@@Necroghoul I think what they meant was the connection between Calamari Incantation and freedom. We know that the reason why Octolings came to the surface was because of hearing the song. The song was so powerful/moving that it re-awakened the long-dormant "human" desire to return to the surface. Why that song was so powerful? In-game we prolly won't know but it's still ICONIC to this day, so maybe player reaction was what caused this song to be so significant in the story.

What if the DLC acts as somewhat of a mini sequel to the main story it was described as “large scale DLC” after all. Maybe Mr.Grizz could be instructing Li’l Judd from space (that’s why Li’l Judd is wearing the earpiece). I could see the Splatoon creators calling it something quirky such as “The return of the return of the Mamaliens” or “The Mamaliens return AGAIN!”.

The return of the return of the Mammalians would be funny XD Honestly I could see it as like a sort of dual story, where Mr. Grizz launches some fuzzy ooze onto Earth, and the player has to go clean it up (and Damp Socks ft. Off the Hook just so happen to be on tour in each location, sort of acting like the main narrators and supporters for the player)

lil fun fact I learned recently. the splatoon series- (based on the map released by nintendo) takes place in and around Tokyo Japan. and the crater we see in splatoon 3 is, or WAS, Mt. Fuji

given that the Eiffel Tower is by the crater AND if you see a world map of the entire Splatoon world from 1 to 3, the shape of the land is vaguely similar to Europe and the Splatlands is located where France would be, so it doesn't make much sense that the world of Splatoon in its entirety was previously Tokyo

I can see Mr Grizz helping the inklings and octolings. He said that the World Couldn’t be back to what it was before and that moving on is the future. When the zap fish was returned to the splatlands, it looked off and it whiskers looked like they are fried. Mr Grizz May realize this and try to help them, maybe he could use the golden eggs as a source of energy if the zap fish were to perish. I know it's a bit of a stretch but those mind crystals could also be the reason to how and why a song(Calimari incantation) is connected to ink/octoling DNA and how it "frees" octolings. The (stored memory of) song/melody somehow activates certain "human" desires, like a desire to see the sky for instance, to be free from oppression and a wish for cooperation/coexistence/acceptance.

I think you’re right that the inklings most likely don’t know their own story. They’re likely rediscovering it as they go, much like humans, so that would explain why the evolution drawing from Splatoon 1 is so innacurate to how they actually looked as they evolved, because that was their best guess as to how it went down

You know what’s inside the fuzzy Ooze is probably terrifying a disgusting, it probably has a plethora of stem cells (and stem cells can convert themselves into any type of body cell) along with like malformed writhing fetal-like tumors similar to teratomas. (Man I knew this game would make me uncomfortable, and I thought the fuzzy octarians that reminded me of the furry plate and cup was bad…) Though splatoon3’s storytelling is still pretty good. It would be wild if this was a real reality in the future and an inkling would somehow turn on a working game console only to discover that the humans predicted their evolution this whole time.

At least in the german version it is stated, that the ooze consists out of the liquid crystals, that have been contaminated/corrupted by Mr. Grizz DNA. So maybe touching a healthy crystal can turn the corrupted octarians back to normal.

Technically speaking, humanity did survive: their culture and mannerism lives on in Inklings and Octolings. I think that's a fitting conclusion: humanity went extinct, but their culture endured in the next dominant species.

Note that the ink in the facility is the same one Grizz taken and mutated marine life into mammalian life. One thing no one realizes is that a chain reaction from these squid-based properties could transform mammalian life into Marine life. Mr. Grizz, after his mutations, proceeded to develop more inkling-like abilities. A chain reaction involving this ink could permanently alter the entire society of humanity into squid-like beings.

Man, probably the fastest Nintendo IPs to establish a complicated timeline. The first game already started it, but after only 8 years, one of the most complex timelines of Nintendo was created. Xenoblade being the only other contender, but it took 8 years to get Xenoblade 2 to establish that timeline connection. But then again, that 8 years gave birth to the origins of everything in the Xenoblade multiverse, so I’d say it probably beats Splatoon.

The 6th log mentions basically the Inkling equivalent of Jesus, but we don't see him on the rest of the story nor the game, heck, the Log doesn't even mentions his name, then, why mention him on first place? Not much to explain everyone gets the logs playing the story mode. The only lore, story and history that needs to be found by books is the world of the music. The music in this series has more behind it then the story of Splatoon. The only thing that gets me is how the devs keep saying this is the final game of the saga this could be two things #1 this is the last game of Splatoon or this is the end of the Grizz arc. If this is not the end of Splatoon, I would like to see an open world platformer and a bigger focus on musical bands around the world, I'm about done with this Mario galaxy levels stuff.
