The night falls in the Plaza, squids talking, octolings walking, smallfrys dancing, jellyfishes just being themselves, everyone having fun. It's been an unusual night, since the Plaza and Turf Battles doesn't see much people really late into the night. Hey, heard that sound? It's Inkopolis News time! Let's go live with Callie and Marie in the studio! I wonder what's the news...wait, is this the end? Like, really? The Squid Sisters are signing off...why is it so sad c'mon? The Squid Sisters aren't about sadness, that's it! Do it like Marie! Put the music back on! Let's have a fun broadcast like the many others before. The Squid Sisters are about a perfect mix of sensations. Callie's joy and happiness and Marie's funny personality and sarcasm create such an cool mood in the studio, don't you think? Wait what? Off the Hook and Deep Cut left messages for the Squid Sisters? Cool! Both of them made quick cameos though. Off the Hook got straight to the point, Pearl and Marina mentions about our squid parties and the messages we made with ink and thanked them for the fun times they had together. Deep Cut is also on the block, Shiver gave us a good night, but especially for Marie, their boss, i'm not sure this is sarcasm or something, but Shiver sounded honest this time. Shiver and Frye seem to have overcome the IanBGM incident, but I can't say the same for OTH huh? But calm down! Big Man was just kidding!! Their broadcast ends happily with the ol' catch ya later! (atleast I hope, who knows what happens when the cameras are off...) The night ends with the Squid Sisters as supposed to, one last goodbye, we will stay fresh, now forever, applauses echoes from the stages and the Plaza itself, Maritime Memory plays and Callie and Marie watch everything from the studio window, They may not know it, but they did it. They don't know how many lifes they've changed. There is nothing more than to be grateful for everything they did for us, now things are going to be different from now on. This the end of an era.

It took around 80-90 hours to set up everything in SFM, I thought I didn't do much, but looking back I realized that I did A LOT, there was even CUTlRBTree Overflow striking again...
It's weird to think the shutdown happened 1 month ago already, but finally I can just talk about Splatoon and my history with it. Splatoon is one of my favorite franchises of all time. Every time I look back and see Splatoon 1, I wonder if it's the same franchise as the other 2. It gives a nostalgic feeling of a time very different from ours, but not too distant. In general, on the surface it just looks like a silly 3rd person shooter made by Nintendo, yeah, I thought that at first, until I got into it a little later. This game changed my life on levels I could never imagine, an impeccable lore, awesome characters and backstories that I could connect with, a shoulder that I could lean on in the worst moments of my life. In addition, there's wonderful art that exists out there and the beautiful animations that I see were and still are memorable! With my amateur experience in animation and a decent experience in programming (two of my passions) and for almost 9 years writing my stories and scripts, it's a lesson that I now put into practice on this channel. I was behind the scenes for a long time, and now I decided it was time to get on the scene once and for all, joining and marking my place in this incredible community! One Last Announcement is a kind of tribute for all the good times I had with the OG Splatoon, The shut-down felt like a farewell to the Squid Sisters from the news.
One of the first animation ideas I had even before this channel was a thing, now real, here. I'm not going to lie, it was really hard to came with a script like this, but like, really really hard. That was one of the reasons I wasn't able to bring this animation much sooner. This time I don't think I need to apologize for the lack of content. Actually, I need to thank you all by the support even with the last video being uploaded 1 month ago. I'm really impressed how "Acht's Memories" did so well, There is no other way to be more grateful than releasing a new animation for each of you. Thank you.

No doubt, "a Maritime Memory that only those who embarked can tell". It's quite comforting to look back sometimes, the original description was 3000 characters over the limit, so I couldn't tell much about my experience, splatfests, songs like the one from the Lobby, City of Color, Squid Squad and its famous "Splattack!" or even the one from the Wii U menu are very memorable!

Splatoon 1 just feels so different from Splatoon 2 or 3 that it creates its own charm that they don't have. The ending credits are always amazing, but none can beat the first one, I just love Maritime Memory that much. When I beat Splatoon for the first time a loong time ago, It took a few seconds until I realized that I had to shoot ink on the screen to see the credits hahah.

@@Squidki382 This isn't an issue for Splatoon 1, you can use the amiibos in offline mode. Now the real issue is Splatoon 3, because amiibos require internet to work. Not only to shoot photos, but to get their gear too!

Splatoon 1 was my childhood and i am srry for being late on this!! Finding out the servers were shut down permanently tears me to bits...I got a Wii U for christmas when i was 9 or younger and i remember not having an internet connection and only playing the story mode, then roleplaying with the npcs in inkopolis. Splat 1 will always be my favorite splatoon game. I miss the old power-up effect your inklings would get on their head the "boiling ink" imo now (on splat 3) it just looks rushed. THE WAY your hair would flap when u would power up as well. AND THE bronze aerospray with its kraken power up, but i did notice that the inklings/octolings grew with us during splatoon 1,2 and 3!! Pretty neat huh?

Very touching and heartwarming. I honestly wished that i had played the first splatoon when i had the chance to. I unfortunately only cared about the 4th super smash bros game instead. But i at least remember the SFM stuff "for good or bad", and enjoyed the times watching what other people enjoyed. The squid sisters are definitely a wonderfilled group, and almost every splatoon fan will always remember them fondly.

It's not good to blame yourself for something, back then (and still) i'm into Super Mario, for many years this was the only Nintendo thing I cared about. I was like you. What i wrote in the description, "In general, on the surface, it just looks like a silly 3rd person shooter made by Nintendo." is literally what I thought of Splatoon back in the day. I could blame myself for thinking this, but I probably was afraid of the "new" at that time. It's normal...and definitely! The Squid Sisters are awesome! I'm happy to think that one of my animations had this impact on you. There was a time when I was interested in Splatoon, but it took a while for me to actually play it. During this time, my love for the series never died, in fact, it only grew more and more with each animation or art I saw. I could write a lot more here, but what matters in the end is not whether you can play the game, it's the affection and appreciation, like you have for Splatoon! Please, don't let it die. It's something more stronger than someone who played Splatoon at E3 2014, or on the first day of the official launch, in the first hour...and feel welcome! I really enjoy seeing my animations crossing borders!

Nunca tuve tiempo de mejorar realmente la forma en que animo, siempre lo dejé como en segundo plano, para pensar en una buena historia. with splatoon shutting down, my heart was enlightened…also…this is extremely beautiful…i love it…i do have something to say. On april 9th, the day it shutdown, i decided to make a whole track in memory of the first game…finishing the last few parts made me cry. and…i myself as a drumstep artist, felt like it was needed to be done…i wanna say thanks for making this…and im glad you did…i look forward to so many other memories soon.

I really appreciate your kind words. It's unbelievable that it's been almost 3 months since the shutdown, because I can't forget the feeling of the moment, anguish, fear of it. Each player fell one by one, then there was that message from "Callie and Marie in the studio" that poped up, which leaded to an error, it broke me into tears, that happened even when i was animating this...It's kind of difficult to describe Splatoon in words, but it guides us through our passions, like doing a tribute animation, or a whole track for it. It's incredible how we create these things from the bottom of our hearts, from our deepest feelings. I love Splatoon...

I wish I was able to get into Splatoon 1 the same way I did with 2 and 3, but unfortunately at the time we didn't have a TV that worked with consoles or WiFi at home, meaning that every time I wanted to play it I had to bring the entire Wii U to my grandparents' house, which I obviously didn't have many chances to do so. Still, I have great memories of the few times I did get to play it Also, love the little smile the Sisters give to Captain 3 at 4:29, something about it is really cute to me
