Nantucket Gameplay Impressions #2 - Whaling on the Open Sea for Cash!

I noticed that you're not going to the right places to sell your whale blubber, if you hover your mouse over each town you can see the sell price for blubber and oil in each town. Nantucket isn't exactly the best value you get, Horta is almost always better for selling, although Peterhead competes with Horta for best prices in my experiences. Oh and as for upgrading your hold to store more cargo, there is an upgrade in the research part. It's the little barrel and not sure if you know this yet but when you get a different ship the upgrades stay with you. They do not reset. One last thing, you can do research upgrades at Nantucket and Peterhead at the same time. It speeds up the upgrading process quite a bit. Btw, great video!

you should check the scientist skill bandage. and remember that many sea animals give bleeding wounds (two damage per turn) and narwals seams to only give bleading and no direct damage.

It's kinda messed up to swap out your sailors when you think about it. Just taking this guy on a grand ol' Whaling Spree where he only earned like 2 percent of the profits, then kick him off the ship at some random foreign port because the new guy can sail 10% faster. Poor guy probably doesn't speak the local language, probably doesn't know where anything is or anybody at this place, and only has a few dollars that he can't even convert to the local currency to buy a trip back home because he doesn't know where the local bank is...and will probably be either robbed or totally swindled by the time he finds it. Literally just has to sit around the port and hope that a willing captain will let him hitchhike back to his homeland before he gets stabbed in an alleyway or starves to death. Great Life!
