Bro fr this is a serious problem! I had an issue with one of my vids a year ago when I made a beat and it was all with splice loops, then it got randomly copyrighted from some random producer because the other used those same loops in his section of his track. If I had this a year ago, I would’ve definitely gotten some help there, but it’s cool cuz that was a year ago. I’m really happy you covered this, God bless! 🙏🏽 🙏🏽😊 😊

Yeah! I'm not the first to cover this topic, but I wanted to add to the conversation and hopefully bring more awareness to it. Even if you pitch the loop and change the tempo, people are still getting flagged. I still have nothing against using loops, but I do think Content ID needs some serious revamping.

Actually going thru this right now. So frustrated and angry. Someone Content Claimed a sound I used from SPLICE and while this whole dispute is going on, my video - which took 7 days to produce - is making no money. I use a paid version of splice that allows commercial usage on KZbin. So its money lost while money is being spent.

the solution is to copyright songs as a whole (the combination of the beat with melody, vocal etc), not a melody on its own, so that the melody on its own cant be copyrighted since u got it from splice but the combination of elements with that melody should be able to be copyrighted (the specific beat, with specific melody, specific vocal combination). ps. if splice sampling give that much problems while they're billionair companies then they should get sued aswell or atleast fix this problem with for example my example.

hi,we just got a copyright claim from tunecore on behalf of one of their artists for a piece of music that their artist sampled from an older song.are they allowed to do that? the older song is from 1974.
@LMarquee2 жыл бұрын
Great question, lenore! If you both used the same sample that neither of you originally made, then they can't claim that you infringed on their copyright. I recommend getting in contact with TuneCore's customer service to resolve this issue.

@@LMarquee hi,i disputed their claim through youtube with my license and the page showing the nine artists who sampled the piece of music. now i am waiting for their answer.thank you.

hi,they rejected our dispute.i do not even think they looked at it.we then contacted their support,but received no real help.they did not really know what to do.we then went to trust pilot and left a one star review.we also left one for believe music their new owners.we had the same problem with them.they really have to get their act together.

after a bunch of e-mails we got to john and had the claim removed.

Is this the same with vocal samples from splice, like a vocalist singing a short phrase?
@LMarquee Жыл бұрын
If it's easily recognizable, it's possible that it could be claimed by content id, especially if you don't chop or alter it. If it's something short like a one-shot, the chances of it getting claimed are much lower.

@@LMarquee I see. Thank you for the tip!

@@LMarqueehow long should the chopped lengths be, in your opinion? Could I get away with 3-5 secs?

I have a question. If i only use a single beat of an splice loop, i would have any risk too? for example in a short intro?
@LMarquee2 жыл бұрын
Legally, you are allowed to use any loop that's on Splice because they're all royalty free. With that being said, you still may be at risk of getting hit with KZbin Content ID, but you can contest it since that's against Splice's terms of service.

It's happening on social media pretty hard too
@LMarquee2 жыл бұрын
I noticed that. That's ridiculous too. An artist I do production for posted one of her songs that we made from scratch, no loops or samples, and Instagram removed the video because of "copyright." It makes no sense.

I completely agree.

I like KZbin and Splice a lot. I just wish they'd get along with each other!
