The video is beautifully organized, and Nick's demo beats are absolute bangers. Definitely sparked some new ideas for my music.

Cool techniques try serato sample plug-in for getting samples in key

When finding the key of the song manually I never thought I would accidentally identify the fifth instead of the root! Thanks for pointing that out.

I love Bitwig, I've been playing around with it for a few years now. These advanced sampling techniques are really cool, but the one thing that I wish Bitwig made easier was using the Sampler to do beat slices like almost any other sampler does at this point! I'm so glad Splice carries Bitwig now, I'm hoping it exposes it to a lot more people.

Thanks, beautiful techniques!. I love to record real sound from the field and then sampling to choose the sound I like. Capturing in the mall, kitchen, and even the bathroom are so funny!

How do you start making beats if you are a beginner that knows nothing?
@redacted__2 жыл бұрын
Download the demo version of FL studio, it’s very beginner friendly. From there, consume tons of tutorials on KZbin. I did exactly what I described 7 years ago, and obviously I used to suck, but all the hard work paid off. There is nothing better than making a dope, lush beat then hopping in the car to bump it. Good luck ✌️

honestly it's a bunch of trial and error. some of the most fun is at the start, just play with things. look things up to understand them more and get a basis of how things function, but overall as long as something works for you it doesn't matter + messing around trying new things is the fun part :)) just know it will take a while and a lot of research + self-reflection to really hone in on a sound/perfect your stuff but all that matters is that you play around and have fun! try all the different daws, grab some basic decent samples and go hard! I'm not necessarily an expert, but this is what I've noticed over the years. all the best 💙

Watch some YT videos. Then you'll get yourself familiar with the terms and workflow. After that, try to make something on a DAW like Ableton Live, FL, Bitwig, etc. [If you want a free DAW without really compromising on features the you can try Traktion Waveform Free. It's a very good DAW imo]. There are also music making softwares like FL Mobile, Caustic, Garageband that you can use on your phone {I myself started like this}. {{{Keep watching YT videos about tutorials and also don't forget to apply that knowledge/practice. Search up something like "How to make (insert genre) or X type beats (if you are into trap/hip hop)" There are literally thousands of videos to get you started.}}}

Hi Guys. Thanks for this dope video I would've one question: is it legal to take out a short sample from a well know artist's song and reuse it in your own?
@nickthechen2 жыл бұрын
You can sample it but to release the sample in your own commercial work you must clear it with the rights holder. All of Splice samples are royalty free!

Does anyone even bother to learn instruments and make original music anymore orrrr?
@nutsosix79306 ай бұрын
all the effect may sound cool but in a record release nobody would listen to it, sound too ugly. may get likes in youtube but in chart top 10 is something else.
