Brah. It’s inspiring how well you’ve done with minimal experience! Congratz 🥂

What an episode Tom! I'm so happy the video is finally out! I've been checking everyday if you have uploaded! You are my favourite KZbinr by far! Absolutely loving the content as always! Looking forward to seeing the moth on the lake!

Thanks Finn! Sorry it took so long this week, the rain on the weekend stuffed me around. Should be back into a more regular schedule now if the weather cooperates!

It's like a cool Ateam montage but with teenybopper music

An idea for the forestays pin would be to cut a flat or chamfer into the exposed end in line with the through hole to make lining it up easier.
@TomStuchberySailing6 ай бұрын
Good idea! The previous owner was going to use shock cord like the side stays so I might experiment with that instead of the small bolt
@mungbean846 ай бұрын
@@TomStuchberySailing the hardest part will be installing something so thin if it's not stiff. So a pin or bolt may be the only option, but if it were to protrude would make more problems for the unfortunate body part that catches it at any rate of knots.
@TomStuchberySailing6 ай бұрын
Yeah, that’s kinda why I like the little bolt I have there now, it’s flush with the foredeck so I shouldn’t get cut up too bad flying past it!

2.5mm dyneema shrouds with sliding splices. Much easier. Theyre just there to keep the rig up anyway. Might be worth trying to find a M2.2 boom and kink it?
@TomStuchberySailing6 ай бұрын
Yep, that’ll be the plan for the real stays, much easier than re-tying 1.7mm knots in the cold 😂 I have a regular kinked boom somewhere from the old boat but I’ll stick with the z-boom, I like the theory behind it and it has a lot of space for a clumsy giant crossing the boat!

I've been enjoying your journeys, the tri was cool, and this could be better... but could you please do versions without music? It would save some of us having to constantly adjust the volume.
@TomStuchberySailing5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you're enjoying the journey so far. I hope this works out better than the Tri! I'm on the fence about the music, I have started a poll on my channel and I'll do whatever the majority want! :)

Hate the music

Please buy a hot knife / rope cutter. I don't know how you can make such awesome splices and still use a lighter to seal the ends! Great choice in soundtrack though!

Yes, it’s on my to-do list! My brother has one but I haven’t quite been able to justify it yet! Im glad you liked the songs, finding those is the hardest part of the whole thing!

This is so interesting! What's the tool you use with the remote cutting head and base box?
@TomStuchberySailing6 ай бұрын
I’m glad you like it Graham! The tool is a Ryobi 18V One+ Rotary tool, really good when it works, just keep the receipt because this is my third one!
