No micheal ironside and the substitute actor just sounds bland, not to mention some really poor dialogue in places and the engineers motives are quite vague, possibly an area where the writing could be improved, that's pretty much the reasoning behind most of the hate Conviction has a really gritty and dark story with some great game mechanics that were carried over into blacklist, but had barely any of the silly equipment or comedy that comes with a splinter cell game. Blacklist has all the goofyness in there and the gadgets but without Ironside or a suitable actor to stand in and it's like making a soup and missing the key ingredient again. Most fans of the franchise think that chaos theory or the first splinter cell is the best with some really liking double agent as well.
