I always loved the idea of Sam being on the run. Having contacts in Third Echelon, wearing street clothes and still using his equipment. Had sort of a "24, Jack Bauer" feel to it. I wish they would have done something like that again in the sequel. Oh well. Conviction is my personal favorite of the series.

What really makes this scene is the way they used the writing on the walls. Flashing up what Sam is feeling makes the player feel it at the same time, which is just great game design. Throwin in Michael Ironside's superb voice acting and this intense music and it makes for probably one of the most emotional moments in gaming ever without needing to kill off a main character or love interest.

Yeah I grew up playing the 1st one, never played Pandora Tomorrow. CHAOS THEORY forever changed my life (really the 1st one did too lol), Double Agent was great but some reason didn't feel as good as CT, Conviction on the other hand took a few missions for me to grow on it, but it is arguably the best in the series. Its between Conviction and Chaos Theory for sure. Splinter Cell stopped at Blacklist though, the older games were definitely on a different plane, as far as the tactical gameplay.

From how I see it, there are 2 versions of splinter cell, the original games, which ended with Michel Ironside, and the modern version, from Blacklist to whatever comes next with cooler gadgets, more flexibility, a more serious tone, less personal storylines, and Eric Johnson. They are both amazing in their own way, and the key to enjoying the new version is to treat the old and new versions as 2 separate entities. Think of Blacklist as its own game series (or maybe as a reboot) based off Splinter Cell.

What's preventing him from bringing Sarah into hiding whilst having Sam know about it? This plot twist relies on a character acting in a way that just doesn't make sense.
