I know it's not really TMNT. But are you gonna review or discuss the Samurai Rabbit show?

The rat king is the creepiest villain the entire extended turtle-verse. I know that there are creepier things than the rat king, but every time he shows up there are an inordinate amount of rats involved and that amount of rats that aren't Splinter or the tiny little ones that are clean and used as house pets are just a big nope.

Yeah he deserves more attention

I love the folkloric motif of the rat king. This was a great take on it; for some outside this property, see "King Rat" by China Miéville and "The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents" by Terry Pratchett, both of which also use the concept of the rat king having some mental power over rats and maybe not only rats. (You see a less dark take on it in the Nutcracker, of course, but I've never been a fan of ballet.)

This exact thing happened in the 2012 show, but splinter fell after a fight with the super shredder in a "we both die" moment And in the end splinter doesn't cave and he defeats the rat king only to see his remains from when he plummeted there from his last fight with splinter and Donnie and Mikey end up finding him and saving him

Literally this moment is much darker than its 2012 counterpart, would be very terrifying if he had eaten a rat in the show!

Another dark moment is splinter just trains the turtles to be child soldiers in the ways of bushido instead of as surrogate sons and splinter not once fought against orroku saki shredder in the mirage books

So it's some kind of representation of what Splinter tries to reject based on prior experiences with the Rat King? Interesting despite being a villian he could not let one of "his subjects" let themselves wallow away in such a manner.

I just finished "City at War" yesterday. I was kind of surprised that the Rat King died, but I guess there was no way out of the silo. Still, I'm surprised that he discovered he had super powers (the rats were friendly with him when they were all trying to kill the Turtles) and disappointed that he's dead. Oh well, he's alive in lots of other iterations.

@@Spider-Complexion pizza is not healthy for real turtles and even ninja turtles to eat even tho real turtles dont have human chompers some species of slider turtles like the cooter turtle possess teeth but how turtles instinctively eat they have to submerge their entire head and food in water and scarf it down they can't digest cheese/ dairy and nuts and turtles can eat meat but not often eat meat or their make chirping noises that indicates asthma most likely if the tmnt were grounded theyprobably eat water bugs stink bugs earthworms discared half eaten trash mostly vegetables and fruits stolen off a street open Bodega they probably swim in dirty sewage water and new York ponds and lakes to hunt for fish.
