As someone who grew up in the 1980s in The Netherlands: I didn't know they were ever called anything else than Hero Turtles. But I can understand the change. Animation series and cartoons for kids were vastly different those days. Much softer and with hardly any violence than whatever is on TV nowadays. It was a miracle that we were allowed to watch the series at all from my parents. We were used to Disney, Asterix, Loony Tunes, David the Gnome (etc.) animations.

What’s this comic issue called?

One of the saddest moments in the show! I think this is the only TMNT show that killed off splinter. I hate it when franchises kill off characters that are really important and that we've never seen get killed off before. I know it helped further sell just how terrible of a person shredder was, but still. They didn't have to kill him off unless we've seen him die many times before. I MISS THIS SHOW SO MUCH! 😢💙❤️🧡💜
