"the broken are the more evolved.......rejoice." that's a hard line.

James McAvoy is an amazing actor and underrated, deserves more (besides playing Charles Xavier) for roles like Split and Speak No Evil.

A lot of people watch that opening scene and don't understand why Casey freezes like that instead of running. The "normal" response would be to go into track star mode like you said lol But Casey has experienced major trauma, particularly s3xual trauma that started as a kid and has most likely continued her whole life since she's been forced to live with her abuser. So her natural response is to freeze, just like a deer, and hope the threat doesn't notice her or decides to pass her by. Sometimes it doesn't even connect to logical thought. After all, it's our lizard brain doing the work here, it's instinct. So when she's frozen with her hand on the car door handle, you can see so many other things happening. She's shaking, her eyes are welling up, she's avoiding eye contact. It's really great attention to detail, honestly. As someone with CPTSD, I can attest that I often want to be the one who runs, I want "flight" to be my instinct, but it just isn't anymore.

100% you can get ticketed for going to slow. Called unsafe driving. More often you see it on highways / freeways. Usually if you’re going like >50mph in the fast lane or like >40 in the slow lane for too long (passing up multiple exits)
