I have one. Had it around 3 months.I dye my hair a lot.Don't get time to go to the hairdressers and they chop way too much off for my liking. Used this around 3 times now and I love it.My hair has never looked better. Its super shiny.Super glossy.Feels and looks great.Convinved my sister to let me do hers with it and she was nervous about it chopping off too much hair but she loved it and her hair is in way better condition. She's looking forward to the next time I do hers for her. Just don't overuse it. 4-6 weeks is ample. Get one.You won't look back.I'm a U.K user. :)

babygurl xo Actually, hair alive or dead depends upon which part we are talking about. The part of the hair inside the scalp is alive. The visible parts of hair is dead. In other words hair is not alive. Hair grows from the follicle underneath the scalp skin and fed by blood. Just because it grows doesn't mean it's alive, it's just that more protein is being excreted. Hair is dead protein. So we can say the hair outside of our scalp is dead.

These splittenders do work, I had one probably over 10 years ago when they were first introduced. I would advise to use it in a different direction rather than straight down, because I cut my own hair in layers I used the splittender pulling it up. I have not used it in years but I am going to dig it up this weekend and give my hair a little trim - ignore the negative comments

I'm a UK user and have bought the Pro 2 from Amazon UK, but to my surprise it was shipped from California. I paid £146 and it took about 3 days to arrive which was better than buying straight from the UK for £199. My hair reaches my waistline and is very healthy, this small gadget is all I needed for ultimate maintenance. I'm incredibly satisfied with the results and would recommend to anyone with long hair who doesn't visit the hairdressers regularly.

My opinion the reason they say for a professional use only, is that you will be charged more than you would if they use scissors. I purchased the knock off brand and I like it; it removed my split ends and smoothed the ends. Then, I used the scissors to even the hair. (Afro hair would need to be flat iron first).

I was wondering the same and found a blogpost where she wrote the following: "When I was three, I had surgery on my eyes to remedy ptosis. It impaired my vision, so my mother moved forward with the eyelid surgery. Doctors removed six tendons from my right leg (a scar rests quite nicely on my upper thigh) and placed them along my brow bone to help lift my lids. That's why I blink differently than most of you; it's also why I have tiny scars hidden behind my brows - they're almost unnoticable. That is all thanks to an amazing plastic surgeon." Well.. saying a professional shouldn’t use it on clients because it’s a machine is like saying someone shouldn’t pay a stylist to use electric trimmers on their hair. People pay stylists to make sure it turns out right and perfect, not because they can’t DIY the same thing at home. It’s about quality.

I know you did this a while ago but back in my country (DR) there are actual professionals using this, you have to go to the salon to get the job done in your hair nothing weird for us, is an expensive tool so is better to pay a fraction of the price every six months than paying the full amount all at once. I have used it several times and I can really see the difference on my split ends. A note from my hairstylist is that you have to get a haircut or trim your ends after using the machine to remove any uneven hair, cause this is solely for SPLIT ENDS not to do a haircut

You don't need to get rid of your split ends for beautiful hair, it's just a gimmick so hairdressers get business. Unless you have bleached/processed hair than there really is no point for this. Other women in other countries like India and China have beautiful lushes hair, some down to their knees and do they get rid of their split ends? No. Smooth your hair with a hair oil and your split ends disappear.

I'm asian and I can tell you that my Virgin hair never splits. I also dry it off occasionally and curl it. When it's bleached the splits can be on the ends or in the mid length of the hair shaft also. Pretty sure oils don't seal the splits...especially not in my experience...please share the brand if you actually know one that does. Thanks. Split ends would be better off cut because they cause more tangles which can lead to breakage. Definitely not a gimmick
