We could either apply a flat black material or create an occlusion mesh that essentially cuts away from other layers. If you have an example you could show to help me better understand what you mean :)

Easiest fix is to add an extra pixel line either side so they slightly overlap mask wise

Hello, Currently there is no reliable inbuilt shadow tools BUT you could apply a Gaussian blur 2D transparent Shadow texture onto a surface behind object and in front of surface e.g. glasses - Transparent Glasses shadow texture (Plane or Second Facemesh) - Facemesh.

I have an issue with a material on a second facemesh not showing in app but they do show up in spark AR. I am super new with Spark (As in started today) and I did some face distortion in Blender and created a new Face mesh. This works fine however I also wanted to try creating freckles. I added a new face mesh for that and added a material and custom texture. This shows up in Spark AR but when I try it out in IG and FB only the face distortion and skin smoothing show up. Anyone know what I am doing incorrectly?

There could be a variety of reasons this could be happening from incorrect generation of face distortion mesh not being able to offset materials correctly in real time or general issues with the way effects can be deployed post spark AR studio building on mobile devices. Have you tried some troubleshooting such as turning compression off and ignoring Depth Mask tests / write to depth mask options under advanced render options? I would post this query on the Spark AR Community page on Facebook as there are alot more clever people over in that group who may be able to offer advice :)

You could try the pupil tracking technique OR apply a facemesh with eyes disabled and apply a material with alpha that has the eyes in the position eyes would be on the face asset package available via the help section within the app

Other design programs include Gimp, Paintshop Pro, ProCreate any program that lets you have layers and save with transparancy would be sufficient. You can do alot with free or cheap software does not require Adobe at all

Hello. My girl created a mask, it was approved, but the mask icon does not appear on her page. When copying a link to a mask for everyone, it works and the statistics do not even have views (330), but there is no mask icon on the page, which could be a problem.

I presume this effect was uploaded to the Spark AR Hub (online) if there are any issues regarding icons not appearing or review process issues these should be highlighted with the Facebook developer team facebook.com/sparkarhub/ as to why this has happened I have no idea. As long as icon was submitted and effect approved it should appear on platform of choice and be accessible via their profile.

Hello! I have the same problem than some others, I've got a fine line between my 4 squares and it shows on the mask... I turned off the advanced option, put the underlayer on another layer and disabled compression but it is still there... Any idea why? I also have the bug on the eyes and mouth even with the advanced option turned off aha

So buffer is off, depth is off. Compressions off and underlayer and quads on different layers. Are the alpha masks used perfect quadrants of a square? As for mouth and eye bug does this appear only in emulator or on device? The mouth does tend to have some issues with more recent versions of spark I have found. If you want to send my the AR packaged project I can take a look or screenshot of setups from textures to mats e.t.c I can take a look. @IntARMedia on twitter

You may need to adjust the advanced render options on materials and turn off depth mask and buffer. Also make sure the 4 quadrants are on separate layer to the mask that is revealed :)
