Early 90s low budget sci-fi/monster movies had so much more talent and heart put into them compared to all the shitty ass Asylum/SyFy original type films that they crank out today. The Guyver, Arena, Robot Jox, Split Second, and Death Machine (to name a few) are so much better than the dreadful direct to video monster crap on tv these days.

I can't believe this is thirty years old already and I still vaguely remember watching this on a shonky old VHS rental tape back in the day. It's basically Alien set in a London tube station on a straight -to-video budget. I love the corny, growly-throat voiceovers on these old trailers.

for me this a cool classic film, unique in his style, a jewel of those times and with a reference to Poe's tell tale heart, a scenography simply perfect, alongside a lot of horror, action, thriller, and gore, in middle a dark atmosphere, this really deserves at least a comicbook sequel.

I've just gone through a list of movies I saw in 1992 (yes I wrote them all down... ) and saw 'Split Second'. I had no idea what it was so here I am... and having seen the trailer, I still don't recall a single minute of it, which is weird for me. I hope I enjoyed it at the time, it looks like fun!

Back in 1992 it was considered an underground horror B-movie, the type of movie people didn't watch in theatres but rented from the video store. Today I have it in my own *"TOP 500 List of Must-Seen Horror Films of All Time"* Plus I have the Uncut DVD, the one with 4:3 and 16:9 versions (!), in my personal horror collection. Even for today it's a great horror flick with a gritty atmosphere and entertaining funny lines by Rutger, especially for Halloween 31.10. movie nights at home.

I saw this on vhs when it came out Rutger is super cool this this low budget sci fi horror movie . Kim Cattrall must of made this at the same time as Star Trek 6 cuz of her hair . He has the cool energy he had in Wanted dead or alive but the best film I saw him star in was a Western that was a revenge film after that was small parts .
