Dude, those connectors could not have come at a better time. I was trying to build a lock for a hatch on quite a large ship that I'm building, and those connectors saved me a massive headache. Whoever at Keen thought of bringing them to the game, you're a legend.

Michael "Spoke-Too-Soon" Splitsie strikes again! And multiple time as well! Not sure how you do this, but everytime you comment on something - the exact thing happens not a moment later. "Nobody got hit!" - Capac gets hit. "There are no turrets" - Capac gets turret. "What would drill do to you?" - Capac gets shot. "I like solving problems" - tank explodes. And many more... Also, Capac seem to somehow regained his old self. Dying at odd time in funny ways. Try explaining somebody how drill shot you xD Or you stepped on a landmine with a flying ship. I was missing that kind of Capac.

I've been flying my interceptor against them and it's not too bad, general rule is spin to win and try to stay at the max range of your weapons, being AI they never lead shots better than a turret would.

That effect in the big hole of a blue light behind the big flatmo is such a good piece of the environment. In fact, I did that for one of my ships' server room. Though I don't think either would actually be doing much heat management given, y'know, the vacuum. Keen builds always have so much personality in them. 10:28 As I recall, this alien glowing growths appears in one of the other scenarios, with warhead landmines inside them there. It certainly does take a Capac to hit a land mine in a spacecraft.

I suspect they stole the basic idea from the ASSERT mod; however it is still nice to have a professionally made version of that. It is a good idea worth stealing. As is often the case, it helps a lot to come in prepared, and be a bit cautious about initiating the next stage. On the other hand, most of these encounters seem to give you various time limits. The drill is on a piston, so extend the piston while the drill is active and facing upward and you have your hole. That placement is very intentional, like a shortcut in a more conventional video game, but I guess you need to disable the safe zone first, which triggers the reinforcements, etc.

I wish they improve combat while on foot. I played Frostbite dlc recently and fighting indoor turrets was rather tiring because it was always the same "didn't notice turret -> die" and then ADADADAD until turret was destroyed. Maybe some actual walking NPC enemies that would have a bit more.... surprising AI

On the Steam Workshop, there are a number of tiny remote control drones designed to breach and clear large grid ships. They'll fit through large grid doorways (well, not the new DLC narrow door). Most of them pack a fixed gatling gun, though I think one has a warhead. One example is on DaddyDamo's workshop (they also have some other neat proofs of concepts like orbital drop pods). Not sure if people make them for PVP or PVE, but one stated use is definitely for triggering and clearing sneaky interior turrets. Design is very basic: 6 ion thrusters, camera, antenna, remote, gatling gun, gyro, battery, maybe some armor plates. Space and zero-g environments are perfect for them. With these new, more excitingly dangerous encounters, maybe they'd come in handy. Or at least be good for the rule of cool. :D

The power output of the prototech battery is actually lower than the regular one, but since it is half the size of the regular, two of them will take up the same space but give you the larger output you spoke of.

A tutorial on how to make new factions encounter mods using the keen system (instead of MES) and explaining the possibility we can do with it would be nice now it's pretty barebones on the spaceengineersgame web page it simply say the minimum on how to export a grid and refers you to SpawnGroups_PlanetaryInstallations.sbc and SpawnGroups_GlobalEncounters.sbc as examples But what if I just want to add regular encounters like cargo ship but with more action than the vanilla ones (maybe it's just a matter of adding AI blocks and event controllers to manipulate their behaviour). Could they call for reinforcement? Could they go in planetary atmosphere like MES does? it would be nice to have it all in one place or maybe multiple tutorials (one for the basics and others to explore more possibilities that could be done)

Are you thinking about making a mini-series dedicated to searching out the Prototech blocks? I'm going to say this now, Splitsie- the Prototech Thrusters do NOT go on your fighter. Also, a tutorial on making an NPC mod would be a great addition - I have an idea for a NPC faction, but no clue how to implement it, so, can you hurry this one up? (I'm joking about that - take your time and do the excellent job you're so well known for.) Last thought - the drill drone that got Capac towards the end - was that Happy Miner? I'm sure that was Happy Miner...

Well it will make modded encounters more console friendly unlike MES which requires Scripts that can only be used on dedicated servers for consoles, so yes i would say new mods for encounters will be coming that will no longer need serious scripting anymore just so there more Console friendly!.

If you're on Steam there are a few things that used to be able to mess that up which could be fixed by verifying game files, but if you've already done that I'm now sure what else to try as I haven't heard of this as a common problem yet 😕

I had one 4000km away, and when I restarted my game a bit later it gave me a totally different one 8000km away for some reason. I think the signal you get is random. It might be a bug.

So, something I haven't quite understood: Do these encounters respawn? It feels like they don't, since they're large and I don't know how the game would deal with voxel removal and such. But if they're finite, would that mean that there's a finite amount of Prototech blocks available in the world?

The new 'claim NPC PCU' function is how this is worked around. Because the player has to take on the PCU values of the base, if they don't have any left they can't claim it and after an hour and a bit they'll be deleted

@@WhatTrigger against spider and wolfs can work they have weird hotbox against moded from Cre Ai are almost ussles.

@@adrewadrew5860 Not sure, but it was against different enemies from "populated worlds" mod. from those little hover bots to rifle holding engineers

Yeah, the flare gun's damage was nerfed not long after Capac murdered me with fireworks in the hangar of the skywarp :P
