Hi URHC, looking 👀 very good, log 🪵 splitter is a great machine, a great shame about the ash, having beetle, over the years I’ve made lots of furniture, out of ash, I have a few trees in my garden, one is actually down and ready for me to log up, I have a small electric hydraulic log splitter I think around eight or nine tonne, I Burn around one cord or just over a year, And I stacked mine in my poly tunnel, and I’m still looking for a ride on lawnmower that I can pull a trailer with as well, I miss one that I was looking at last week, keep up the great work stay safe, France.

That was a fun design and build project that works great. We burn between 4 and 6 full cords each winter and ash is not the best firewood but trying to get it all down before it rots. Terrible what small invasive bugs can accomplish. Thanks for watching.

When you took us on the golf cart ride and I saw the splitter I was hoping for a video. The splitter is so cool and it's relaxing to watch. Cripes I sound like a groupie... Too bad Sloowpoke won't fit through the garden gate. Maybe a sled or a baby trailer and a winch from the far side of the garden? You'll come up with a much better idea, I know. Anyway, wishing you a cool breeze every day you work on it.

Thanks. I have several things going on all the time and trying to decide which to make videos about is getting tough because they all are basically repeats of older videos. I have some ideas but have been lazy lately. Thanks for watching.

I live out west and we have a huge problem with the pine beetles and bark beetles killing all our pine and fir trees. A small brush fire can turn into a huge forest fire with all those dead standing trees start burning up like Roman candles. That’s a very nice splitter you built.

Thanks. it's sad how small invasive bugs can do serious damage to naitive species. Forest fires are scary without good forest management in place. Thanks for watching.

I'm left handed too. We get lots of power failures here, north of Corning. So much so that I have a UPS on each computer. Good video, Ed!

Today was bad. We lost power 5x and I was recording the voiceover when it happened the second time trashing the entire timeline. It happens often now and we were told it's because of the old equipment trying to switch power between overloaded lines to keep the grid from crashing. I need to get a new UPS. Thanks for watching.

@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 I think so, it goes up hydesville and minstead rds. Friend of mine was a crew foreman for rg&e, and when it was flicking multiple times a day everyday a couple years ago, he told me what was going on. I called them and said what he told me and threatened to call the power authority. Damned if it didn't stop the next day...

Good morning, URHC , Well , I have bit the bullet, Meadow / Grass / lawn , is just to long, I have been and purchased a Toro ZS 4200S , a very big learning curve, I picked it up yesterday afternoon around 4 o’clock, I didn’t stop work until nine in the evening, been out this morning? Going back over roughly what I cut yesterday, had a slight problem ventured too close to the river, I found these do not stop very quickly ended up putting half of the machine in the river, just spent two hours pulling it out with electric winch connected to the back of my van, luckily no damage done, it is obviously the cheaper version of what you have got, I suppose in some respect, that the money I spent on my HOG Deuce, I should’ve really put towards a Newer and bigger version, I’ll probably ride on tractor, 🚜, I think my lawn is going to take a few weeks to get it back into some order as I am suffering very badly from moles, Now going back out to carry on cutting the grass, staying very far away from the river in embankment, 😂, I hope you’re both keeping safe and well, France.

Zero turnscan mow a lot of grass fast. I love mine but only use it up on the flat area because they loose traction easily. once you get the lawn cleaned up it will go really fast. That zero turn should be able to outrun moles 🫢. That's how I got rid of most of mine. Enjoy your new machine. Keep the shiny side up and green side down.

It is tipping it down this morning., and it looks like it’s going to be bad for the next week, Back on my HOG project, I hope you both have a great weekend, France.

Power outages? Given your engineer background and inclination towards electronics, gadgets and designing/building things I'm a little surprised you don't have a whole generator / solar / battery mechanism setup. More stuff to buy, things to build and videos to edit!

I'd like the o make the same offer to you i have to TCs Outdoors in Sodus. if you need or want some dead ash, I've got tons if it. Everytime a squirrel 🐿️ farts 5 of them fall down. F o c, just give me a hand dragging it out of woods to open areas.

Thanks for the offer but I have a bunch more dead ash to deal with here and really have to get it all down because it's becoming dangerous and starting to decay. It's amazing what those little EAB did to this area. We bought our house before it hit 18 years ago. 2 years later trees started dying. That's when we switched to heating with wood. Thanks for watching.

@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 I've cleaned up the same little area in my woods (bout 12ish acres), 4 yrs in a row now. I don't know whether to keep cleaning up down trees or to start mowing them down. It's all down on the flats portion of the property, along Mud Creek. Used to mow off what isn't cropped but have stopped to let the ash saplings take off. Hopefully they'll thrive and next owner will have a nice stand or 2.

If you have time and a chainsaw I would make as much good firewood as you can. With predictions of record oil prices and a colder winter on the way it would be a good way to make a couple extra dollars for the holidays. I bet with inflation firewood will go for between $80 and $100 a face cord this fall.

Plus I'm busy w the farm 3/4 of the year. And the undergrowth in the woods is awful. 75 species, 73 of which have thorns. Do wood in winter as long as there's not a lot of snow cuz of driveway to it .
