@@WILDKYLE I think there is a way to stabilize them. I seem to remember that from the Yorkshire guy I watch maybe? Or maybe it was you, hunting fish fossils in like Utah or some place like that with someone that is a fossil prep guy and he makes art? That was you right?

To WildKyle, I found this video, it may be important to you. It is called 20 Most Dangerous Minerals in the World: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a37ahIlnlNuafKM On: The Fancy Banana (Channel name, I can't help it.) It is that you guys find so much stuff, and you seem to cut it too, so maybe there is something you don't know yet. Much love to all of you from the Netherlands. ❤

Kyle, I wanted to share! I ran across your videos and have been binging watching. I prefer the creek walk type, only because I don’t know the rocks & fossils, but love the shells. Back to the old trash piles. Many, many years ago ladies didn’t have a choice of shoes to wear. Many of the smaller hinge shape thingys you found were for shoe ornaments. They would have a bow or such & they folded on the open part of the shoe above the toes & wow they had a prettier pair of shoes for Church, dances or weddings or such. Google & you will find a better explanation. Ya’ll are such a nice group of young people!

@@suemitchell1354 if you go back to the fossil videos and watch them, you'll have a huge knowledge about fossils by osmosis! I swear! I knew nothing at the beginning and by the time I was running out of videos, I realized that I was guessing right! I love the underwater ones that have the name of the fossil written on the screen as they find them the best! But yeah...most of my fossil and teeth knowledge came from Kyle and Chris!

29:54 Kyle, I'm unsure if this happens with plant fossils, but for gastropod fossils like ammonite and baculites, they will develop a beautiful gem shell called ammolite and it is absolutely beautiful, often displaying all the colors of the rainbow. Wait a minute. I'm preaching to the choir here. You knew this before I knew this. Oops. Sorry man.😳

If you dry those shale slabs out very slowly, you might be able to stabilize them with Paraloid B72. Paraloid B72 is sold online, generally as granules. I used to volunteer at a paleontology lab, and we would use a solution of 98 percent acetone and two percent Paraloid B72 (I can't remember if the ratio was by weight or by volume, sorry) to stabilize fragile fossils by infusion.

Im a 65 yr old Rockhound from N.West GA . I grew up walking the creeks and woods around the family 65 acre farm that was built over 100 yrs ago from when I was 7 when we moved there. The closest store was 7 miles in any direction from there. I've found artifacts , arrowheads, broken indian pottery, civil war bullets and buttons, beautiful small quartz pieces , some old bottles, etc ...but no fossils . It's on my bucket list to find some plant fossils, meg teeth, horse teeth and gemstones of good size quality. Nothing huge , just pretty, you know. But I am on fixed income and a 20 yr old car. If you have any suggestions for these types of places that you could tell me, I'd not make a video except to record my findings. And I'd never tell a soul where. My knees can still walk now but dont know for how long. If not I understand, and I'll still love to watch your channel.. have laughed, learned ALOT, and loved every single one so far. Loved Duckman!❤❤❤❤✌️

So Kyle I'm thinking back to I think it was this video where some of the fossils had some iridescent properties to them. I was thinking it's probably oyrute and how cool it would be to polish the surrounding area and see if it shines up and if it does, shine the matrix and leave the fossils natural! I bet that would be just gorgeous AND desirable if you wanted to make some money. Imagine an impression of a fern with the pyrite polished to a shine??
