I watched another person using the Chi Spin N Curl and she wasn't as articulate and organized as you. The time spent was well worth viewing because you compared a product that you have used prior to the introduction of something new. You gave me a convincing reason why I should look into the purchase of the Chi Spin N Curl. I am conscious of the value and cost of a product and I research what I buy more often now. The newer version is now in a rose gold barrel. Thank you.

I've purchased two of the Chi Spin n Curl. I LOVE the curl it gives. I have thick & long hair (almost to my waist ). My issue with both of them is the power button wore out and would not press. I think this is due to using it as the "reset" when you do have hair tangle in the spin. Because my hair is long, it did tangle more often, but still was easy to untangle. I think this caused the button to wear out fast. They each lasted about a year. So for me , the cheap power button is not sturdy enough.

That’s a shame!! Have you tried reaching out to them to replace under warranty?

I got so scared when I saw the smoke rising up from your hair 😂🙈 I usually can't get curls to stay in my hair because I have pretty fine hair but also a lot of it. The only thing that works is the babyliss automatic curler but I don't quite like the curls it creates because they're too tight for me. Maybe I'll try the CHI 🤔 it seems to create bigger curls
@slashedbeauty3 жыл бұрын
Ooh yes I've tried that one and it took forever because it works in such small sections for tight curls like you said. Maybe you could get away with the 1" in this tool!
@windowdepot74923 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review. Just FYI, I might have missed it, but I didn’t hear any mention about hair length issues with either. I have the Chi and it was impossible to use with shorter hair as you didn’t have enough hair to grab onto the barrel, but I was able to a little easier with the Instawave.
@slashedbeauty3 жыл бұрын
Yes I actually mention the opposite-- with the Chi there's also a limited amount of hair you can work on due to how short the barrel is, so I imagine for longer hair you'd only be able to curl your ends.

In your opinion between both tools which one would you suggest for long hair & when I say long I mean it’s almost to the top of my hips 😬🤗
@slashedbeauty3 жыл бұрын
I don't think the CHI would be good for long hair to be honest because it can only take a certain amount to fit in the barrel! I've seen people with long hair use it but its more just curling the ends-- and if you feed too much in it it will stop half way!

If you hair spray the curl or pin it up when it’s still hot it can help maintain the curl for longer, but i still think this looks super pretty and i wanna try and buy the chi!!!

I am sure you already know that the Kiss Instawave also has a more expensive one and the difference is that the cord swivels and it has one of the prongs that is located close to the barrel for a more secure hold on the hair, and it also has a beep once the curl has set which tells you that you can pull down to release your hair, and I think it also turns itself off if left plugged in for 90 min.

I don't understand what you mean about not being able to travel with it because it is only single voltage? You can buy European adapters if that's what you're talkin about. I lived in Europe and had to buy adapters for my TV and several other things that I brought from the US. They worked great! I hope this helps you!
@slashedbeauty2 жыл бұрын
The adapters only change the plug type-- single or dual voltage refers to the actual electrical voltage that powers it/that it can handle, and countries have a different standard voltage that their outlets put out. If an appliance is single voltage , it'll say something like 110V only on the plug. Dual votalge will say something like 110/330V. If there's only one number and you bring it to a country with a higher voltage, it will literally overcharge/fry your appliance. If it's dual voltage, that means it can handle a range of voltage levels.
