Finally, a healthy, intelligen t response. Yes, he WAS brilliant...almost too good. When I first saw this scene I got nauseaus...as would anyone who has been through a sexual assault. Actually, though, that is a testament to how well he played it - either he's one hell of a method actor or a serial killer...lol. It was how well he acted that scene which made me look at the show differently, and stick around for more. That being said, though, there was no sexual desire in that scene - like all assaults, it was about having power & control over another, and them being helpless to do anything about it. And he played that so well it made me wonder what fraternity he belonged to in college...lol. However, his other inttimate scenes were all about passion & intensity, losing himself in the moment without losing control, and walking that very fine line between pleasure & pain without once actually crossing it...and that, too, takes real talent. However, I wonder whether some of the others have even watched the show, because they don't seem to understand that Sam is not even himself in this scene - he's possessed by a demon.

If you can say that you've never been sexually assaulted...because it's cold, humiliating, and demeaning. It's not about sex at all, but having total control over another. Yes, his acting in this scene was so good it brought me right back to when I was on the opposite end of something similar, which is, I'm sure, why this scene caused so much controversy. However, some on here are confusing Sam's real character with when he's not himself at all, like in this scene, where he's possessed by a demon. That being said, Jared plays the real Sam as having exceptional depth, complexity, and ever present internal conflict. Sam's passion & intensity show in everything he does, expecially in those intimate moments - it gets wild, but he never actually hurts anyone...not when he's himself.

I think I know why people are thirsting about this scene. Beside rape fantasies/the actors being hot etc...Sam has the intensity here and wants to take over. I totally feel what Sam/Meg feels here, but you feel nothing like that from Jo. Her fear and pain and panic feels also real...weird how your feelings change depending who of them you watch closely.

Meg went after hunters if you remember in season 1 when she went after a bunch including Pastor Jim, Caleb, Sam, Dean and John. Here she was just continuing what she did in season 1 by killing Steve Wandell in his house and going after Jo in an attempt to get Dean to shoot Sam, where she as a demon would've survived of course and then probably gone after Dean. It was when Meg-in-Sam was going to kill Bobby in this episode that she got caught, probably because of Dean warning him (he told Jo the nearest hunter was in South Dakota, i.e. Bobby) or Bobby figuring something out. It was definitely not a sexual thing although Meg made it look like one when Jo didn't know what was wrong with Sam.

@@wtcvidman I think that in this specific scene she wanted to take advantage of her condition as Sam, maybe he had a little crush for Jo until that moment ( we cannot forget that she had full access to Sam's memories and feelings when she was possessing him) or maybe she thought that Jo was not going to resist Sam, it was then that she came across the fact that Jo was in love with Dean. What in Meg's mind it made more sense for Dean to want to protect her shooting his brother.

Here in Born Under A Bad Sign, she was just continuing what she did in season 1 by killing Steve Wandell in his house and going after Jo in an attempt to get Dean to shoot Sam, where she as a demon would've survived of course and then probably gone after Dean & Jo anyway had she been successful in getting Dean to kill his brother. It was when Meg-in-Sam was going to kill Bobby (another hunter of course) in this episode that she got caught, probably because of Dean warning him (he told Jo the nearest hunter was in South Dakota, i.e. Bobby) or Bobby figuring something out. It was definitely not a sexual thing although Meg made it look like one when Jo didn't know what was wrong with Sam. If you watch the last 2 episodes of season 1 (Salvation & Devil's Trap) and then this one again, you'll see how well the continuity was.
