Yep, it needs a full, submarine style snorkel. Intake and exhaust both...and make sure it isn't breathing its own exhaust!

I don’t know how the exhaust flange looks on the tracker, but if it’s symmetrical, flip it so the exhaust pipe comes out the front, top. Take the hood off, because that’s what Cooper would want, and stick a straight pipe/stack sticking up. You could even tie it in with the snorkel brace. And put a tractor flap on it, just for looks.

Nope. That's a common misconception that many people assume. I've done and seen plenty of underwater and deep mudding. My stock single cylinder Yamaha 550 Grizzly would idle with the exhaust underwater. A 4 cylinder will have no problems idling at all unless tune is crap. The previous two issues were due to the distributor getting wet, completely unrelated to the exhaust being underwater.

I drive a 1977 petrol series 3 land rover. For going into deep water I seal my distributor by cutting the bottom off a plastic bottle, remove cap and pass leads out through the top of bottle and seal with mastic. the rest of the bottle fits over the dizzy and will make an air lock which will keep it all dry. it really does work well

My suggestion about the Tracker is to run water over the engine with a garden hose and see if it stalls before going to the pond, and fixing any problem areas. Do it when the engine is cold though.

For the mini bogger you need to extend the exhaust so the exhaust can escape. Also silicone all electrical including the ignition switch. That is older so check for a valve cover vent that is open also.
