The only thing that disappoints me, is how over time they've got a bit too tryhard (the racers), went from people literally bolting a tree upright to their car, to people trying to strap them down as tight as possible and as streamlined as possible.

If I recall correctly, the Christmas Tree race started out as mostly Cleeter and some friends having a race and I don't think it was even a public event. Now look at it. It's fantastic, draws a huge crowd and is raced in great spirit. It's amazing how well Cleeter and his crew put an event on and how it grows. Motor sport needs people like this.
