Mullet is so sophisticated and has so many levels of adjustment, that's it's gone beyond the skillset of Team McFarland. In its first few runs, Kevin had it delivering 7.60 because he understands it. The boys are on a steep learning curve, but they need to be taught. Learning themselves, particularly chassis tuning is way above their current pay grade and that's why they're frustrated🤔
@JacobF3693 жыл бұрын

The more amusing thing is the guy was freaking out asking me if the car is gonna be okay, what are you meant to tell a bloke in that situation, his rear wheel was inside his trunk, the car was wrecked, I just was like "i'm not a mechanic I dunno", the last thing he needed was being told his £100,000+ car is a total write off in that situation. The other one was significantly less cheerful, the cars passenger died on impact, and the driver was flung from the vehicle, and had the cars door embedded into his back, I never did find out what happened to him after he was airlifted away.

I am glad in a way to see the struggles, it adds to the story and hopefully triumphant win on the last day. Also, that car is no turd, from Kevin‘s shop to race week with no problems other than a learning curve, can’t ask for more than that.

No biggie. The car is just not dialed in yet. Kevin had to crunch finishing the build until 5mins before going to Midwest Drag and then from that directly to race week. Rent out the home drag strip again and get the car right with KSR and mid to low 7s should be a given.

I think you guys might be confusing sorted out car with one that needs adjustments for changing conditions. they just don't know how to adjust suspension, if it wasn't for another racer helping them and Kevin not there. they have no one to hold their hand they get lost. jackstand ain't it, pretty much everything he says to adjust is incorrect, you could hear how impressed cleet was in passed videos when Kevin said make this change and it worked, he had been used to James saying stuff and it not working and Brent doesn't have experience with these 4 link rwd cars, he will be the one to learn it thou. I think this will be the last time you see mullet on race week without Kevin near by, even if it's driving a different car, he will be there to lead them down the Track.

The rear is not extending enough and what extension it has, is maxing out WAY too fast. Should reach max extension at 1-1.2sec into the run.

Once race week is over, and they get a day at the track with Kevin to do all the tuning for it and suspension work, this thing will make some passes. Pretty much every run it has really made has been on race weeks where you don’t have any time to do the adjustments that need to be done. Don’t get down on yourselves boys!

James is gonna have that blazer soo tuned up he's gonna be like "What Nova???" This needs to be a thing. For every race week buy James and George a vehicle and see how fast they can make it over the course of the race week. They gotta sell it at the end of the week and get to keep the difference over what the purchase price was.

He doesn't get rattled, he helps keep his team from getting rattled, he keeps them all focused on the tasks at hand. People THAT is the mark of a leader. He makes a plan, adjusts on the fly and completes the mission. MULLET FINISHED ROCKY MOUNTAIN RACE WEEK IN #1. Good job Cleetus McFarland, good job indeed!

On the 7:73 run the front end does not lift. The car pretty much launches flat. The three launches where it blows the tires off. The front lifts substantially, not a flat launch. Just something I noticed. The front stayed level and the rear squated on the 773.
