All three endings do a great job of capturing the power dynamics going on with Asellus. You have her innate desires and dreams, as shown in the human ending. You have the corruption and power of Orlouge and his Mystic Blood, amplified through Asellus in the full Mystic ending. And finally, you get the half mystic ending, which accepts the mystic power while not fully succumbing to it. Great stuff.

From all protagonists, only asellus I really like the story. The endings were really touching.

Of all the endings I feel like the Half Mystic ending is the better one for Asellus. It's got a bitter sweetness to it. She stays friends with Gina and their friendship also affects how mystics interact with humans in turn. Gina grows older but she also gets to hear about Asellus adventures and I imagine Asellus helps other people in need or takes on other corrupt Mystics.Asellus doesn't get the happy ending she wants of being mortal and being an ordinary girl but she still does good and enjoys life with her Mystic friends.

To me half mystic is the best ending, she still keep be alive in the end and she got the team with her to do goodness. While human ending she passed away.

so the remaster is my first time playing the game, and i decided from the get-go to do the full mystic ending, thinking it would be like a “okay well i have killed orlouge and now i’m in charge, it’s time we change things around here!! no more being bitches!!” holy shit was i wrong. i was NOT expecting what i got not in a “i regret picking this” sorta way, to be clear. i was GENUINELY not expecting that. it seemed so out of left field! i thought orlouge’s speech before the final fight was just like…bad guy bluster, not how it would ACTUALLY HAPPEN LMFAO it’s been a long time since a game threw me for that kind of loop!

You are OP! That's great, I also first time to play this game. I got the full mystic ending too. Play again for the 2nd time, it's really fun. I was surprised of how asellus becomes when getting full mystic ending.

Nice video. For those confused, Asellus has mystic ability. If she does not use it, that is the human end. If she does, that is the Mystic end. And there is a 3rd.

Holy crap it took me more than three days playing this straight, grinding at the Bio Lab (so much fire leather to trade for the power suit and padded shirt armor for even a chance at the last section alone), and I was satisfied with the half mystic ending (saving Gina, the lab experiment victims, and powering through with just the sword you paid LP for). I was actually touched by the half mystic ending.

For me, the half mystic ending was more than just using her forced upon powers for a good cause; it was a touching ending about self-acceptance, even if she didn't have a say in the first place. So far, Asellus has become a favored character for me because she shows the most development as a person so far. Even if the ending was based on player choice and actions.

@@garretmangio9756 Imo the half mystic ending is the best ending, where she accepts herself like you said stay a kind person and become a great and fair ruler on Facinataru. It feels so nice playing Saga Frontier again after so many years, this was one of my favorite games as a kid.

Played all three endings tonight.. just powered through with New Game+ each time. I only ever saw the human, and half-mystic endings in '99ish (I was 10), but this was the first time I've seen the full mystic ending! I watched your video and skipped the first one to make sure I got to play through it. New Game+ and triple speed has really made this a modern game.

@@SCAWAKENINGshao Do you mean match romantically? If you do, surely you should be looking at White Rose and/or Gina. Maybe Mesarthim, for variety. If you mean in gameplay, I like a set with the likes of Mesarthim, Rogue for more support magic, pick a couple out of Zozma, Gen, or even Fuse to round it out. But as for romance, look at the whole metaphor of her story, the interactions she has with Gina... Heck, look at how the bunny girls in the Casino flirt with her!

@@UnkaJosh I know your comment is 2 years old but i just finished Asellus story. I understand full mystic ending she becomes lesbian due to his power. Half-mystic unsure but in human version she apparently married a guy who she has children with. Other than Gina crushing on Asellus cause she though she was a boy prince and with White Rose, it only looked friendship to me. I wish the ending pictures were actual drawings like they do when chapter ends cause its very confusing who is who

I think its just for the art picture. Lion princess still considered as one of the beautiful lady. Even she appeared in romancing saga reuniverse, even the main protagonist riki, lute dont get much art on that game
