1.) I'm envious of everyone who enjoyed the film, I really wanted to like the film but it didn't work for me. With that said there are so many things that didn't work for me (Spoilers): -Prime fights megatron for all of 19 sec and he fights bee for less than 2 min in this 2.5 hr movie -Dragonstorm had the same screentime he had in the trailers -Same recycled plot elements with an ancient relic from the past, cybertron coming to earth from DOTM, human leads being the chosen one because they have the ability to retrieve the relic, etc. -Grimlock had 1/5 of the screentime he had in AOE -No bumble bee v Barricade -Drift, crosshairs, dinobots, barricade disappear from the final battle -Why is Izzy in the final battle -Where did Prime go in the final battle, he left like an hr before everyone but showed up way later just to manufacutre drama and tension in the most contrived way. Hell, he nearly cost the entire battle because the movie had to give him a dramatic entrance. On top of that, there is already so little screen time of him in this movie, you would think once he turned good, he would be in the whole final battle. -Infernicus was wasted just like the rest of the decepticons -Vivian was just a sex object for the audience to look at (no real teacher dresses like that), she had no chemistry with cade and is only important to the plot because her father, and her whole arc is that she needs to find a man -Edmond burton took up way too much screentime that could've been given to bots -Squeaks is a poorman's R2D2 -What ends up even happening to the knights/dragonstorm? Are they dead? -After cade saves Optimus from the knights, he had no purpose in the story anymore -Quintessa reminded me of enchantress from Suicide Squad but 10x worst and didn't even put up a fight. -Micheal bay literally has a character in this film who believes in science and physics and makes this character as annoying as antagonistic as possible almost as if just to say to the audience F*ck science and physics -Lennox and TRF tries to make a deal and allow Megatron to free his minions instead of just jumping on Megatron's ass when he showed up ALONE in the desert and MAKING Megatron tell them about them about the relic. And of course, they get betrayed by megatron in the end

I honestly thought the movie would go like this. Prime is mind controlled and goes to earth. Autobots realize something is up but prime attacks all of them and starts looking for the staff. Then they try to get Megatron to help take down Optimus but he wants his decepticons back.

Your reasoning for the decepticons, I absolutely agree with. For once we have such a unique cast of decepticon vehicles. But the all died in there first fight except for Nitro, he stayed till the end and then got killed. They gave them all personalities this time with voices but what was the point, they had not enough screen time. That's really my only complaint though, but they really deserved way more justice than that

Alex, apparently the original runtime for the movie was over 3 hours long. Someone from Paramount leaked this, and since they didn't want to be attacked for being longer than Age of Extinction (the length was something that many didn't like). They cut out scenes such as a chase scene that took place between the junkyard scene and the abandoned town scene, most of the Nemesis Prime scenes, some scenes in the London Chase (a possible Bumblebee/Barricade fight), some scenes of the Bumblebee and Optimus Prime fight, and flashbacks on Cybertron of Optimus Prime and Megatron. Last second, they hastily cut out 40 minutes of the movie. I feel that if they were to leave them in, the movie would have been received better.

hey Alex I have some CRAZY NEWS 40 minutes of the movie was edited out because as soon as it was leaked that transformers would be over 3 hours, critics attacked michael bay for this. because he was worried, michael bay took out mutiple important scenes out of transformers, including a critically needed scene such as optimus and Megatrons backstory reveal. all that was supposed to be in the movie. that's why the movie felt all over the place, cause alot was edited out. And the plot was confusing because of this. the movie might have turned out better if the run time wasn't leaked, cause if it wasn't, then all those parts would still be in the movie and instead of jumping from one scene to the other, they would have steadily connected to one another having the plot actually make sense. so in short, THE RUN TIME LEAK RUINED THE MOVIE!!

I feel like the movie had so much more content, and a LOT of it was cut for time. It was really fast paced and awkward because scenes would just start and stop. In fact, a lot of footage from the trailers weren't even in the movie, like Bee running up to Prime and getting tackled. maybe there will be an extended cut later on to fix all this but....who knows.

They just introduce so many things in these movies, like The Matrix of Leadership, Space Bridge Technology, Nemesis Prime and never execute it right or in a meaningful way. They fuck all the characters up, never develop them except for Bee and Prime. The movies slow down at certain points cuz of the fact that Prime isn't there. There are so many other badass autobots that they could put the spotlight on yet they always have to just give it all to Bee and Prime. The make Megatron a total bitch and barely have the decepticons do anything threatening that would make you scared of them, like Shockwave for example. And then then the retarded human element in these movies is just revolting and atrocious and If I was a writer for this movie I would have killed off the entire human race but a handful that the Autobots feel responsible for protecting.

So let me say the first time I saw this on opening night (Tuesday), I enjoyed it overall. I think seeing it the second time made me see EVERYTHING that was wrong. From a storytelling standpoint, I liked the beginning. The ACTUAL Cybertronian lore (not the Witwiccan history) used I found interesting. I began to zone out when Anthony Hopkins basically said I'm out in the submarine. It wasn't until Optimus arrived did I even care. The stupid fish dinner and love story bah. I think you hit the nail on the head with Decepticons and action sequences. The more I think about it, the angrier I get. I don't think my subs have seen me actually angry....yet.

Yeah Some Stuff I didn't like about the Movie: - Decepticons did nothing and were easily killed off, plus Barricade ran away again - Some Characters Disappearing and Reappearing out of nowhere - Script was ok, but could have been better - Some stuff still not explained - Continuity Problems - Unused Transformers - Action Sequences Short and Scenes Cut short - Way To Many Trailers and Stuff Shown before Movie Comes Out PS I still liked it and enjoyed the movie

@NobleSpamMan Agreed or even if starscream returned he can remain on the squad as someone partnered with or under Starscream. Nitro's death was pointless. I mean at this point the battle was already lost Nitro probably would have surrendered or went after Megatron. I just need Decepticons to get kills besides it being megatron. If we put more named robots on both sides with toned down human interaction maybe both sides can eat and not just Megatron, Bumblebee and Optimus. Imagine Ironhide getting more kills and Ratchet with smart calculated kills or Nitro and Starscream having tag team kills.

I totally agree with number 1. We were shown way too much, and way too early. I will say this movie had way more potential then what it gave us. Yes, some of it is unbearable, but over all I went to this movie to see the action sequences, and for the actual transformers. So i was satisfied for what I got. I didn't go into this movie with high expectations, especially after the forth film. I'm caught in the middle on how i feel about this film. I don't hate it like most people, but I also don't think it was the best. I still might go see it again, just because of the small details in the movie.

As a huge fan of the Transformers franchise, I really did enjoy this film. It's far from perfect, but I was entertained for two and a half hours and it was one hell of a ride! I agree with you Alex, especially about the Decepticons not having a clear purpose. I would've loved to see the Barricade vs. Bumblebee London fight go for longer and Barricade actually use his arsenal of awesome weapons and inflict damage on Bee. I love all the live-action movies, but I feel that Michael Bay's departure is giving a new director(s) the opportunity to introduce fresh and great new concepts to these films and I am very excited for that - I will never give up on this franchise. :)

So hyped for this movie, trailers were amazing, potential for story line in terms of the mythology they were going to delve into was huge - and it went so flat. Biggest thing for me was earth being unicron being revealed in such a low key way. Remember how it was revealed in TF Prime? So good! And shocking! This was just Quintessa telling Optimus. There was no unicron backstory to inform any casual viewers who he is. Did we even need to know earth is unicron? Did it even add to the story? Couldn't that have just been revealed in the mid credit scene? That would then set up the remainder of the cinematic universe. Then the Optimus vs Bumblebee fight scene - as you say we already saw over half of the scene in the trailers which made it less enjoyable. But also there was no real shock that Optimus was now Nemesis Prime. Bumblebee just started fighting him. Wouldn't there be some denial, head scratching, soul searching before this fight started? If any of us are betrayed by a friend you would take a while to process it before starting to 'fight back'. This was just so quickly "Oh Optimus is evil now so I guess I should fight him". There was no emotional investment in that scene. So many other things - but very disappointed...

Elz Core I liked the marketing..and didn't. 40 tv spots is a bit much considering a lot repeated the same scenes but (at least for me) they gave me a completely different idea of what would happen in the movie than what really did. only marketing I hated was they gave the idea that the Optimus vs bumblebee fight would be way longer. so long you'd see them fighting in the background while other events happened then a close scene of the fight repeat a couple times and end.

When Prime was getting beaten by the knights after the fight with Bee, one of the knights said "Quintessa is the great deceiver!", and then he hits Prime. I don't believe we saw the Creator yet. Like all Quintessons, Quintessa herself is a deceiver. What could be improved is not only the question of how Galvatron came back as Megatron, but also more origin of Earth's history. In other words, how did Unicron's gigantic planet sized body became Earth during the formation of the universe? Show footage, dialogue storyline of how he existed, and how the majority of all transformers, plus humans, didn't know Earth became his sleeping, comatose body in planet mode.

It wasn't necessarily a bad movie, it just had bad things about it. I thought that overall the movie was great, (at least compared to his other films) the scenery was great and the CGI was on point. I completely agree that the script was great, but Bay definitely dragged it down. But this movie wasn't horrible, and was probably the best Bayformers movie so far. I also want to remind everyone that this is still a Micheal Bay movie, and everyone went in with high expectations, so everyone gave the movie a bad review. Honestly if was not bad and it'd just my opinion.

I thought it would be cool to share my thoughts since I saw the movie today (I would like it a lot if you responded and give your thoughts). I honestly wanted that Nemesis Prime would've been the main focus in the entire movie. But still enjoyed the film anyways, but I agree with you. I mean what happened to grimlock after the beggining, and I really hated what they did with the Decepticons, especially Onslaught (who is my favorite combaticon) he was so wasted, same thing for Nitro Zeus. Well at least Barricade and Megatron survived. I thought that Quitessa was pretty cool and I really like the inspiration from Transformers: Prime with Unicron. But it was less explored. Also, I think the humans were more focused on than the previous films wich I did not like, honestly it should be called Humans vs Transformers. Yet again there were also the aspect ratios (wich I did my best to ignore) but also a lot of weird jumpcuts at times, that I noticed. And finally I hope that this is truly Bay's last film, even though I enjoyed all of them, because, like you, I want to see the franchise go on a different direction, or perhaps a better one, but at the end, I still like the film as it is, but I truly understand why some people were desapointed or even hated the movie. And I respect their opinions.

Here's just a few things I wished they could've done to slightly improve on the movie: 1: Explain how Galvatron became Megatron instead of living it up to the audience to assume what happened. 2:When they headed underwater to the ship,Hot Rod could've went along with them.It'd be nice to see Vivian's Guardian and Cade's new guardian,Bee interact more when they were looking for Merlin's staff. 3: We could've gotten a quick scene of Optimus....Nemesis Prime heading back to Earth ordered by Quintessa instead of him showing outta nowhere. 4: It'd be even cooler to see him turn against both the Autobots and Decepticons(Quintessa too) and hopefully Megatron could've knocked some sense into his lust to destroy Earth.

My Number 1 Complaint about this movie was the Dinobots. Just like Alex said. There was only 2. Grimlock & Slug. Where did Strafe & Scorn go. Slug was only in this movie for 10 seconds. Grimlock had like 5 mins total. They had way less screen time in this movie than AOE. Also they never transformed into their Robot Mode. (They) Grimlock Stayed in his dinosaur mode his whole screen time. I really hope they return in the next transformers movie (Not talking Bumblebee film) With a ton of screen time & Transforming into their Robot Mode. Also what Happened to Drift's Helicopter Mode. In AOE, he was a triple changer. He only Transformed into a car in this movie. UGHHHHHHHHH!!

"#2 Incomplete Action Sequences" was definitely my biggest problem with the film, and I'm glad you pointed it out. Every fight felt so unfinished and left you wanting more, but by the end you realize there's nothing there. It actually deflated me by the end. When the battles finally get uploaded to youtube in the future, each "battle" is gonna be like 30 seconds long.
