Jacaranda is a tree with a delicate purple grape like flower - very pretty when in full bloom. At the moment they are flowering here in Australia :)

I love Jacarandas in bloom 💜 we have two at home and it’s a purple dream. 🥰I think they did a good job on this color. One I’m looking forward to.

I’m so happy with it this year because I love shimmer inks! I’m having a lot of fun combining them too!! Some faves so far: merry & bright + walnut = a gorgeous olive green Masquerade + cashmere rose= gorgeous nude pink Merry and bright + moon beam + emerald velvet = muted grey green similar to j herbin vert Atlantid

That part where you said you would disappointed after day 3 is not an experience I want to go through! I won't ever buy this calendar, but I love watching early spoiler videos like yours, so thank you for doing this! My plan this year is to buy 25 ink samples from Vanness or Goulet that I already know I am interested in, and create my own advent calendar for a bit less money.

it was helpfull. Though i don´t like spoilers but you made me decide not get the calendar this year it´s simply to many shimmering inks and I was a bit disapointed at that last year. The sheening inks though . "Bring em on" :)

The shimmer in the chameleon inks are supposed to be duochrome and look different depending on how the light hits them. I found it really hard though to catch the different tones, too.

Thanks for helping me out. I think in the end I was able to see more than one color in those shimmers. In the end, they are shimmer inks with particles inside. I don't think their performance differs from shimmer inks at all.

Jacaranda it's a tree, the ink looks inspired on the flower and as a South American I'm very excited about this ink.

I got one, it just came the other day. Sweet dreams reminds me a lot of Lamy Beryl. I LOVE that color. A few of them seem meh but there's a lot of colors I wouldn't normally go far and seem nice to play around with.

I am happy I watched your review. I was still able to get a calendar, but very much in doubt because of the prize and the surprise part of it. I don’t do well on surprises, it makes me nervous. Now I have seem the colors, too much shimmer and shine to my liking. I feel at rest not buying one, no longer the fear of Missing out. Thanks!

None of the colors are sheening, just shimmer. But I'm glad you were able to decide against it instead of spending the money and always feeling like you wasted your money.

I haven't bought an advent calendar for years. This year I pre-ordered the Inkvent as soon as it was possible. I didn't open mine though. But I liked your overview. With the complete list of inks I can now empty up enough pens to use all my favourite inks in December. The good thing about the advent calendar is that now I have colours and inks which are usually out of my comfort zone. I would never buy scented inks for example. Now I have two of them, apparently. 😄

Shimmer inks are generally out of my comfort zone, but this will push it even further because I don't have enough "cheap" pens to put them in. So I'll see how that works out.

That's how it went for me in 2021. I decided to use put them into pens in December so I have used them at least once and then just keep the ones I really love and pass the rest on to someone else.

I saw "star bright' and immediately started searching to see if anyone knows what the heck that means. Chameleon shimmer/color/ink is a common term in most paint/ink communities (even makeup and resin communities too) but I've never heard of star bright! I wonder if there's something more special than just REALLY INTENSE SHIMMER lol

I think Diamine distinguishes between chamaleon and regular shimmer as chamaleon has more than one shimmer color. Star Bright looks to me like those metallic gel ink pens and I'm very curious to see how that will perform in a pen.

Seemownay, Thank you for this! It's been so useful. I've been on the fence but after watching this I decided not to buy Invent 2023. It looks like there are some very nice colors but not as many to my liking as I would prefer. I don't need an unlimited number of inks. I'm not a KZbinr and only write in my journal. For the same amount of money, I could buy around 40 samples. or 5-6 full bottles of ink I really love. Thanks again.

Totally agree. I was able to use affiliate money for it, so I didn't feel I was using my own money. I probably would have not gotten it otherwise.

KWZ Warsaw Dreaming is also similar to Diamine Nightfall, but without shimmer. It’s my favorite blue-Black ink. Thank you for the swatch preview Seemownay! I will get a few bottles of inks that I‘ve been wanting for a while instead of the Inkvent. I do not want scented inks, nor do I want a bunch of shimmering inks. I‘m all for shading, but that’s as far as I go.

I was able to buy this calendar with affiliate funds and so it didn't feel as "hurtful" to my wallet if I didn't like the inks. It's definitely out of my comfort zone and I'll see how I like the experience in December.

I have decided not to get the calendar this year. There are three inks I liked the look of so I am going to mix dupes for those. Nightfall looks the same as last years silent night but with shimmer added. I will probably get a full bottle of Cinnabun when they come out. This year my husband bought a whole bunch of cult pens x Diamine 12ml bottles and he is making my advent calendar with those, a bottle of ink and a different tea each day. Bliss. I hope you enjoy putting these into pens during December. Happy writing!

Seemownay - I know that you are using Tomoe River Paper to swatch your inks what appears to be a Traveler's notebook. I use the regular size refill grid 002. Yours looks and sounds different. Would you kindly share what it is?

They are inserts that I purchased from Paper Penguin Co. She has an amazing selection of papers and you can order the inserts in any size and with a variety of rulings.

I just open mine and I really like Fireside snug as well, however my box was missing the ink for day 14. 😢. I am not a fan of scented inks so I’m glad there were only 2 of them.
