Here's a little cool reference I found. In Nefarious City near the pocket dimension, you can find a reference to the dystopian novel 1984. Two civilian robots are having a conversation that goes; "The Emperor says we're at war with the Resistance." "I thought we were at war with the Blarg?" "No, we have always been at war with the Resistance." This is a reference to the famous quote "we have always been at war with Eastasia" from the novel. Not a huge easter egg, but I thought it was a pretty cool little reference. 😁

In Zordoom prison at the beginning of the level you can see a damaged space ship from the reimagining/movie, also theres a reference to Crash bandicoot in the Pocket Dimension of Torren IV(its a speetle challenge were when you reach the end you can hear Rivet says "woah", it can also be a reference to the warthog level in Crash 1), also theres another reference to Sunset Overdrive, if you noticed the animatronic inside the Jukebox in Zurkie, the same animatronic can also be seen in Sunset overdrive(i didnt noticed it until Aaron Jason Espinoza mentioned it on twitter)

Theres an audiolog of Mags saying when the Lombax went into exile some groups got separated so this confirms that alternate lombaxes dont exist? So in the end Rivet isnt an alternate Ratchet.

I love that Sony has no issues having other Sony/Insomniac appear. Of course the Jak & Daxter cameos have been around since Going Commando I believe but if it's nice Insomniac knows how to do good easter eggs, etc. They do a great job in that department. This has to be the most easter eggs in a single Ratchet & Clank game. Insomniac Games are too fucking good

Jak's model is almost perfect but the hair needs work, but in Insomniac's defence they probably kept his hair simple by design; I don't fully understand the processing capabilities of the PS5 but I do know that detailed hair is more taxing on the GPU which is probably why Jak's hair looks like it came from a lego man's head.

There are a lot of comments so this one may have been mentioned already but at 12:25 the artwork image on the side of the arcade cabinet with Qwark and the green things is a reference to the 'My Blaster Runs Hot' arcade machine minigame in ACiT at the Agorian Battleplex. I'm surprised they didn't have that game on the screen. Also given they have Richard Horvitz (voicing Jr Zurkon I think), I wish they put an Invader Zim reference with the Ryno 8, but probably some copyright issues there.

small correction: what you called a Sawtooth is actually a Ravager but it's an easy mistake to make given their similar appearance; the difference between the Ravager and the Sawtooth is that the Ravager has a gun on it's back whilst the Sawtooth does not.

Also Rivet mentions never meeting another Lombax until Ratchet, so her knowing Angela makes no sense. Insomniac are just using her as a running joke at this point

I appreciate them adding those Easter eggs. It's unfortunate that we will likely never ever see another Jak&Daxter or possibly sly Cooper game again. Also...This game was very, felt like it was one of the shortest games they have ever made. I hope they make a proper sequel, or at the very least some DLC. Another Quest for Booty style DLC would be nice.

As always, great video but I have two things that I'm sure others will bring up. At the village near the beginning of the Savali level if you take Ratchet to the ledge with a fence on it, Ratchet will say how he wished Talwyn was here to see the area. This and seeing Talwyn in the end credits makes it nice to know that IG haven't forgotten about her. Also as seen in your video, there are quite a bit of secret audio segments throughout the game, such as how if you take Clank and Kit to Club Nefarious, they will comment on the music there and their responses are quite funny.

I understand why Sly looks kinda off, because his model is taken from the PS2 games. But Jak and Daxter’s models are made from scratch, so why do they look like they’re made of plastic? At first, I thought it was done that way because the PS5 couldn’t handle loading a really detailed model that fast. But then I remembered that they have no issue loading in the robot dinosaur from Horizon Zero Dawn, so surely that can’t be the reason.

Well, at least we're getting somewhere with Sly Cooper thanks to R&C: Rift Apart and the Funko Pop. I still hope that when we're Sly's 20th Anniversary, we get new Sly Content including Sly 5, a Remake/Remaster Collection with Sly 4, TV Show, and even a Reboot. It also would've been cool if Sly Cooper is a long-running game series by getting a Sly Cooper "R&C Future-Type" Series. I wasn't expecting Sly to appear in his Sly 2 Model, I was expecting him to appear in his Sly 4 Model, but it's the least we can get from Sly. I also hope that the Sly 5 title is called "Sly Cooper: A Thief Lost". Sony should also confirm that Rift Apart sets up the PlayStation Multiverse which should also hint Sly Cooper and Jak and Daxter’s return too as well

They pretty much retconned Angela to never have existed (why else would both Ratchet and Rivet be astonished to see 'another Lombax'), and yet, they put this line in the game. And they wrote something like: "and about the Angela business... we are seriously sorry guys. Like for realz, trust us." (12:02) But Angela still is not being considered to have existed in canon, except for nonsensical throwaway lines like this. Now I get it. It's not an apology. It's a sarcastic attack. It's like apologizing for hitting us... ("Oh, did it hurt? We are so so sorry.") and then hitting us again while giggling. (They act like Venom in the new trailer for Let There Be Carnage where he punches Eddie.)

Sunset Overdrive definitely is owned by Sony now after they bought Insomniac. Insomniac were trying to develop their own new in house IPs for years in the 2010s and SO was one of them. Microsoft just payed to publish the game in 2014. Sony could do a port if they wanted, bu considering the game didn't exactly sell that well to begin with on xbox, they probably are hesitant to put money towards making a port. Kinda like the original Mass Effect, MS payed for its publishing rights but after EA bought Bioware they owned the IP and made ports to Playstation later.

I mean there could only be 2 possibilities, it was another Angela which happens be the name of another resistance member or Angela (cross) was in a disguise and didn't show herself to rivet. Either way it was definitely trolling and I have no idea if I should take it as a hint for the future or just write it off as them still not knowing how to bring her back in a way that makes sense, only time will tell I guess. Anyways I bet Fixman is glad he doesn't have to deal with that aspect anymore though.

@@TerrorOfTalos (sorry long comment) I have some thoughts on most of the issues of keeping her in canon as a Lombax. Firstly the lack of the tail can be explained with a couple of things. We know Angela is a clumsy character from the game (hitting her head when escaping the flying lab at the start, falling off the ship as the thief on Tabora, falling through the door on Grelbin etc.) that is a given, and is a scientist who did many experiments for Megacorp so it's in character that she could have had an accident at some point and lost her tail (like Rivet losing an entire arm is even worse). Or she keeps it tucked in her uniform due to the aforementioned clumsyness. The conversation on the radio between Kip Darling and Pepper Fairbanks in CiT I would just put down to fake news, given they were arguing with each other at the time and the Lombaxes have been gone for a while, it's easy to suggest they just have no idea what they are talking about. The bit which is difficult is Ratchet seemingly forgetting about her in ToD, Talwyn saying he's never seen another Lombax etc. Although again we don't have to take that super seriously, Ratchet could have just oversimplified introducing himself to Talwyn. It doesn't really break the 'looking for the lost lombaxes' grand theme IMO that Angela also exists (2 Lombaxes is not much bigger than 1), especially since she was in a different galaxy (Solana I think), getting in contact with her wouldn't be easy or productive necessarily given she was also probably being hunted by Tachyon; fear of tracking communications maybe? The fact Tachyon was in the Galaxy for so long and we didn't run into him before in the previous games seems harder to explain IMO. There are probably some other things I am missing though which also have to be explained but it doesn't seem that hard to me tbh to bring her back if they really tried.

@@Bordpie Pretty much agree with most of your comment, I'm certain at this point they're hinting at some grand return of Angela when the inevitable next game about the Lombax dimension happens. Also it wasn't Solana she was from Bogon and as for Tachyon since he was in Polaris all this time and the time I would consider RaC 1-the start of ToD to be within 4 years or so, if between that time during UYA/Deadlocked he was hunting Angela before she escaped with Max apogee and then discovered Ratchets location within Solana on one of the most notable cities in the galaxy it would add up in the timeline.

"Mags" Apogee and Angela travelling other dimensions. That might explain why Max Apogee's ship was set on autopilot to Jasindu and that there were no passengers on board. Allthough that must mean that Mags was here way before Ratchet and maybe once the ship was surrounded they travelled through dimensions and time before Ratchet, Max met Kaden and Angela Rivet, allthough it might not be the same Angela idk this is too much for me to comprehend aaaaaaaaa
