I like ricks development when it comes to hand to hand combat. Before he wasnt really good combat wise and actually sometimes gets embarrassed and has to have his allies help him in most his hand to hand fights and sometimes he even struggles. But now hes trained and is able to preform better combat wise and beat people efficiently without having allies.

I always loved how Rick kind of sucked at hand to hand fighting and often gets his ass kicked, but right when he's about to die, he loses it and overwhelms the opponent.

Think it was more to do with CRM leadership ruling through fear. Once the leadership collapsed, new leadership rose that wanted to restore what was lost, rather than pretend that what once was can never be again.

Not really that hard to figure out. The Frontliners (ones with red strips) with a small brigade, over 2,000 men. They were the ones responsible for the attacks. Then you have the rest of CRM force (17,000?) that was in the dark about the Frontliners operations. So… it’s not that they turned good, they were always good. It’s just that Major-General and his Frontliners were in control, with them gone the CRM can actually do the right thing.
