Judging by the trailers, I expected this movie to just be a kids movie explaining the origins of how two brothers became enemies. Me and my bois watched it not too long ago, and boy was I wrong. This movie actually had emotion, Optimus and the others actually feeling like characters instead of just action figures, and the action sequences were pretty neat too. We can all have different opinions on the other Transformers movies, but I think we can all agree this is the best

I know the narrative is trying to emphasize that Optimus and Megatron are now enemies and there's no going back whatsoever. But it would be really cool if Megatron is redeemed at some point like in the IDW comics. Compared to most versions of Megatron each of which had a selfish and malicious intent behind their cause, this version of Megatron is tragic. He has his reasons because of sentinel Prime's betrayal, manipulation and deception. Even the "Cybertronian high guards" weren't entirely evil yet. And they were fighting for a right cause to bring down sentinel Prime's corrupt rule. They just had an incompetent leader like Starscream until Megs showed up. And Megatron, blinded by the power he acquired, ended up becoming what he hated most, a tyrannical leader.

Another thing to think about u can see how young Optimus is here, older Optimus at this moment most likely would have saw megatron defenseless and beaten, and can see the conflict in D-16 that I bet a older Optimus would have put his hand out and say “it’s not to late we can change cybertron together, no need for war to destroy or planet we can save it together…..Brother.” That’s just me because this was megatron still filled with conflict and wasn’t fully filled with hate u til Optimus banished him
