this is me spoiling my dog for her last day here | in loving memory of Zoey ♡
i love you zoey, rest easy now.
*before you jump to conclusion and judge, please read:
Zoey was suffering very badly inside. She was close to 13 years old and had fluid in the lungs, a failing liver and an enlarged heart (very weak).
All these issues combined led her to the medications not responding (we tried many) and she was constantly gagging, coughing, throwing up and having difficulty breathing. She also had arthritis and many other smaller health conditions. She barely ate sometimes and slept all day.
In this video, you see her all happy and energetic. That was not her everyday on a daily basis. I cut out all her suffering and parts she was in pain as I do not want you to watch my dog suffer like that.
It was a difficult choice but she is now resting pain free and went down smoothly. Any negative comments I will simply delete because what's done is done and she is now at peace. This video is simply something small to remember her by and the years we spent together.

My Shih Tzu is somewhere between 15-17 years old. She's not suffering or in pain, but her eyesight is going, hearing isn't so good, not a lot of teeth left, and she's not all there mentally. For the first time in her life she gets wet food. She's decided the dog door into mom's room which has worked perfectly fine in both directions for the 10+ years we've had her now only works in one direction. She spends less time with her chickens, some days none at all, and more time sleeping under the desk. The vet gave her a clean bill of health at her geriatric checkup last year, but I've definitely started feeling it. We all are. Our invincible vagabond princess is not going to be here forever. I'm not a person to do everything possible to make a dog live as long as it possibly can. I don't want to be treated that way when it's my turn. I want Maggie to enjoy however long she has left and we're going to make sure she does. So sorry for your loss.

Lost my little buddy in February 2024 aged 13yrs 2months. He had heart failure and the medication was not working anymore, he stopped eating and walking. Also fell over a couple of times, he's breathing was laboured, I promised him I wouldn't let him suffer but boy it broke me when he went peacefully in my arms. Would love to have him back and will never stop missing him. I know the pain you are going through.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my sweetest baby girl 7 months ago today and I still cry everyday. I have never been more heartbroken over anything in my entire life. Her brother Bo is right behind her and it just hurts to think he will be gone in a matter of months and I am going to be crushed all over again. 17 yo pugs and they have been my heart, my life, my children. Goodbye Mandy, my sweet baby I will never be whole or the same again. I feel like I've been riding the bus of life and had to stop to let off my babies at the next stop, as they look at me while the bus pulls away with me still on it. It's hard to breath and I can't seem to cry enough. RIP sweet Zoey.

I’m so sorry, I get the pain. My dog had kidney failure, and we were thinking about putting her down. But before we could, my parents called me up bc it was his final moments. I held him in my arms, and gave me one last kiss before sleeping. I did cry watching this. Rest In Peace Zoey
