In loving memory of my best friend Pipke

This footage shows Pipke's life story in a nutshell. It starts with her family and her still closed egg only one day before her mother would abandon the nest. The next day I rescued her during a heavy rainstorm at the moment that she was born. Because I was the first she saw she imprinted me as her kind. She became a happy little critter and the best that could happen to me.
It shows not only the good times but also the hard time we've shared together. The last seven days and also the last four nights she slept constantly in my arms. The whole time I held her close to me. It was very heavy to say farewell.
She was such a brave fighter.
Sleep soft Pipke. I miss you.

@handmademusicsweden Well, and I got tears in my eyes while reading your loving message! It brings back all the beautiful memories. And although it's already 15 years ago since she past away, I often close my eyes and imagine she's laying in my arms while i caress her soft feathers. I still can feel her cuddles. She was such a bundle full of joy and tenderness. She made my life worth living. Thanks for your❤touching message and reading my blogs.

You can not imagine how much love she gave me. She was such a sweet affectionate little creature! When she died a part of me died too! I was so devastated that my life took a dramatic turn. It is now more than seven years since she passed away and I still mourn! Her memory keeps me going on. Thanks for your kind comment.❤️

She was obviously a special creature. What a great and long life she had with you though, good job taking care of her so well!

+ FlowingDepths - You must know that from around the time that she became 5 years, all the folowing years we had to consult the vet, in total about 295 times, for probe feeding. If we had not done that she would not have lived that long. Her birth changed my life in a positive way, it became the most beautiful time of my life. It's now 8 years since she has died and there wasn't one day that she was not in my thoughts. Her absence still weighs heavy. Thanks for your kind comment. :-)

pippeketheduck I'll check it out, thank you. I too have house ducks, they're the light of my life and I don't know what I'd do without them. People don't understand just how sweet and affectionate ducks can be. When they go, it leaves s hole that never really goes away.

She was a beauty. I had a pet call duck as a kid. I didn't choose him but he chose me when he fled the neighborhood park and hung out in our backyard. Eventually as I got older I decided to give him to a neighbor's daughter who grew attached to him and they had a backyard pool to boot. He lived a good 12 years.

it remind me of my best friend garfield. he was for me the best cat ever and I loved him with all my heart but he died 3 months ago by an car. I'm so sorry for your lose!
