This Fallout 4 series makes me want to take a break from 76 and go on another run. Thank you for all you do!
@stormcry82022 ай бұрын
Always worth another run. I personally like to make completely different characters on a new run. With different faction choices including: Raider, Children of Atom, Enclave, NCR, etc. I also like to go with different combat styles & making use of all the uniques/legendaries you can find. Tie all that with a cool RP backstory, and now you have a fresh new game :)

@@malaizjandejesus2779 honestly, I’m really happy that more and more fans are having a desire to replay the main story of F4. Back in the late 2010s I’ve noticed this really irritating trend of just dragging F3 & F4 through the mud and it was just baffling. Both games did have their flaws but those two stories did not deserve that harsh treatment. Actually, it was to the point that some channels(big & small) even lied about the stories of those two games. I mean NV has plenty of flaws story wise but I’m not gonna go out of my way and just make an 8 hour video slamming every single section of it. It’s just a bizarre Civil War man lol 😂

@@jcm9698 I did the same thing a year and a half ago. I quit playing F76 with a my level 500 plus character to go do another Fallout 4 playthrough and I haven’t returned to F76 since. It not only highlights Fallout 4s Strengths but also highlights F76s Weaknesses. It really does show you how much more fun the single player Fallout games are in comparison. And I don’t mean that as any kind of disrespect towards F76 at all, it’s just the truth.
@Steel-1012 ай бұрын
@@WarNvrChanges You’re spot on. I love 76 but a solid fact is that it does lack replay value. Mainly because multiplayer games have way too much grinding, you can’t have any save files, you don’t truly own it and at some point, the company will shut down the servers(making all of your hard work in the game pointless). Again, it’s a solid fact that single player games are superior, and they always will be. Same thing with video tapes and DVDs. 100 times better than any streaming service.

Man, it's been a few years since I've last played Fallout, but videos like these are what make all the memories come back. Exploring the bits of scattered lore, listening to the radio while sniping/mowing down Ghouls...ransacking dozens of ruins to find Codsworth a tophat. Not quite OG Minecraft nostalgia...but getting pretty dang close. Close enough that I'm feeling mighty tempted to go for one more run, for old time's sake. Thanks for the video as always, Oxhorn.

I wonder what happens if you get the Berylium agitator, but instead of going back to the airport, you instead go to the Institute with it in your possession. I'm sure Bethesda didn't consider that possibility, so Father just banishes you, probably, but I think it would have been really, really cool if you could still double cross the Brotherhood at that point and give the agitator over to the Institute instead. I mean, after all, the Brotherhood trusts YOU to get it back to the Boston Airport, but there is literally nothing stopping you from A. destroying it, B. getting ambushed and losing it, or C. betraying them to give it to the Institute or some other faction. It'd have been really cool if there was some unique dialogue for players who do that. It'd basically let you keep both factions friendly until the end if you play your cards right. Obviously the Institute would be happy to have the agitator, though perhaps a little skeptical of you considering you did Mass Fusion with the Brotherhood. Then when you go see the Brotherhood, you'd have to lie and pass speech checks with them to avoid them becoming hostile. Maybe make up some story about how you were robbed by a whole group of Coursers, taken in, etc. It'd have to be a very high speech check, and if you fail it the Brotherhood goes hostile immediately. Then you could do the Minutemen quest against them. If you pass it, then the Brotherhood would tell you that it's ok, as they have a backup plan to jumpstart Prime's reactor. At that point you could either betray the Brotherhood again and go warn the Institute, instantly triggering Airship Down, go to the Minutemen and warn them about Liberty Prime, or, if you managed to skip Tactical Thinking by doing the missions with the Institute up to Mass Fusion, you could warn the Railroad, in which case this would trigger Rocket's Red Glare. None of the other factions are going to be ok with the Brotherhood getting Liberty Prime up and running, except maybe the Minutemen if they think the Brotherhood is on their side. The Railroad and the Institute will definitely want to take them out before Liberty Prime gets up and running. I think it would also be interesting if the Institute version of this actually failed to stop Liberty Prime from being reprimed, and you had a big boss fight with Liberty Prime and the Brotherhood, where your objective was to hold them off until Prime could be hacked or given a virus. Maybe it would even go all the way to the Brotherhood successfully invading the Institute and you have to help fight them off. Remember that the Institute wasn't destroyed by Prime. It was just opened, and it still required Brotherhood forces to invade it, set the pulse charge, etc. At the end, after you defeat Maxson face to face, maybe right up in front of the reactor, or maybe in the director's quarters as he's about to waste Shaun, you get alerted that the Institute now controls Liberty Prime and has sent it after the Prydwyn. Liberty Prime trashes the Brotherhood outside, and the forces inside get destroyed by synths. You and an army of synths, coursers, etc. escort Liberty Prime back to the Boston Airport where he blows the Prydwyn out of the sky and destroys the entire airport. He destroys the Cambridge Police Department too, maybe. Man, that would have been EPIC. It'd also be kind of a poetic reprise, as the last brotherhood mission is you escorting Liberty Prime to the Institute. Instead, you're defending the Institute from the Brotherhood, and are escorting him back to the Airport. I love that idea. I hope a modder out there reads this and gets to work.

@riseuplights50172 ай бұрын
@@jakespacepiratee3740you dont need to blow up the Pridwen with the Minuteman. If you progress with the brotherhood enough (also with the Railroad), and avoid talking to the NPCs from the Brotherhood and Railroad that give you the quest to destroy one another, at this point in the story he shows near the end of the video, you can complete the story with the minuteman without making enemies with the brotherhood or railroad, and both their quests to destroy each other disappear automatically
@jakespacepiratee37402 ай бұрын
@@riseuplights5017 but is that what would actually happen in the story? An option existing within the game doesn’t mean it will be canon, you need to look at how likely something is. It’s incredibly unlikely for the Institute Ending and Caesar’s Legion Ending to be canon, while the chance of the BoS attacking the Minutemen is very likely. The Minutemen don’t like them, Preston sees them as a threat and invaders, and with how lax the Genetals control of the Minutemen is, even if you didn’t want to, they might just start fighting independently. Minutemen would just need to take 1 shot and BoS would use it as a pretext to destroy them. ESPECIALLY considering what they did to Filly in the Show.
@riseuplights50172 ай бұрын
@@jakespacepiratee3740 I just pointed that out because you said that since the Prydwen didn't get blown up, it means the Minutemen ending couldn't be used using it as evidence, as if it was inevitable. They could let a number of events play out to be canon to the series, in a way to serve the story they want to tell in the series (which I believe they would prefer avoiding to not undermine the players experiences across the games)

1:13 There’s nothing brotherly about the “Brotherhood” of Steel. The fact that she’s able to turn her back on Paladin Danse so quickly after everything he’s done, everything he’s sacrificed for them ( even himself if you’ll let him). The more I hear them talk the more I dislike them. The same goes for Elder Maxipad, he obviously only cares about his cause and not his fellow “Brothers”. They’re nothing more than a tool to be used in helping to further his cause, and from the looks of it a tool that’s easily discarded when they’re no longer useful to him. That’s not the qualities of a great leader.
@AmazingJeeves2 ай бұрын
You're entitled to your opinion, but there's a lot of hyperbole in what you say here. Keep in mind, they have no way of knowing if Danse is a time bomb waiting to go off - a synth placed there by the Institute to wipe out competition. Oxhorn himself pointed out the logic in Maxon's approach in his original video on Blind Betrayal. Could they have chosen a different approach? Of course. But that doesn't negate the very real concern the Brotherhood members do show elsewhere in the game. The chief example that stands out to me is Teagan's story which he tells the Sole Survivor after he/she completes the game for the Brotherhood.
@jothamheystee2 ай бұрын
@@AmazingJeeves This is where my grievances lie with Fallout 4. We definitely needed more options with more major implications. Not to interject New Vegas in here, but I love how the effects the Courier causes are laid out in the endings. Multiple different endings for the same faction due to choices made during the course of the game. Fallout 4 does this to an extent, but not nearly enough. In this example, the Sole Survivor should have been able to present the data that shows how the Institute likely had zero control over Danse since he was reported rogue. This could have opened entirely new options in defense of Danse and changed how the quest went. As a new possibility, maybe implement some sort of kill switch on Danse as a safety precaution or something. There are a ton of examples like this which make the game feel a little hollow. As for the Brotherhood's logic in this instance, I would generally agree. They didn't know exactly what could happen, so better safe than sorry. But they certainly avoided the fact Danse did so much for them. I'm not really certain that they thought about it enough though. If Danse was a bomb, why wouldn't the Institute just have him detonate on the Prydwen and literally end the Brotherhood there? If he was utilized to gather intelligence, why wouldn't they have him jump ship sooner before his cover was blown? At the very least, I feel like there should have been more options to reason with Maxson instead of him being so stubborn. It also makes no sense he just let Danse go if you pass the check when Danse has a lot of valuable information on the Brotherhood. All of sudden he just decides to take the Sole Survivor's word for it, that Danse will just steer clear and not snitch on them? Even though he clearly wasn't willing to listen to anyone at the beginning of the quest. I do love Fallout 4 but there are issues I cannot really justify, and over the years it seems I'm not alone in that regard. I hope they do manage to pull off Fallout 5 in a satisfactory way.

Synths don’t have souls
@WarNvrChanges2 ай бұрын
@@jothamheystee Yeah I think they managed to bring up a very interesting / intriguing / complex issue by having Danse turn out to be a Synth but then totally dropped the ball by having a very limited amount of ways it could be resolved. They could have done so much more than what ended up in the game. The very limited amount of ways to resolve the issue make Elder Maxson look very shallow/ stubborn and unappreciative. They actually did make another way to resolve things but it ended up on the chopping block as unfinished cut content. But it’s probably for the best they did because I think it took things too far having Danse (AN ACTUAL SYNTH) take over the entire Brotherhood. I mean it’s very interesting but it would undermine literally everything the Brotherhood stands for. Still though they could have done so many other things instead.

I think for many people, the idea that the person standing in front of you was never born, but manufactured out of artificial flesh, bone and implanted with memories is extremely disturbing/unsettling. I figure it's a bit of a retroactively applied uncanny valley. Plus there is alot of collective trauma for wastelanders, such as from the Broken Mask Incident, or loved ones being confirmed to be replaced by something else inhuman. For factions like the Brotherhood, its very much an ideological thing where robots should appear robotic, humans should appear humans. (And anyone who can be remotely controlled is a strategic threat as well). Of course, we know its the Institute behind all of these actions, but most characters don't. Institute = Synths, there is no distinction between the two.
