The wheel doesn't have to be off the ground to hear a loose spoke. But I would recommend suspending wheel, it makes this method much easier.

Does the wheel to be checked have to be off the ground so the weight of the bike doesn't alter the spoke's tension?

Do you guys even know what size wrench for using that would you like nice to know I see all these videos but somebody keeps forgetting to see the size of their inch I know there’s different sizes but see the different sizes

Hi hoxtonmoto...I have a Sportster Nightster 2008...My back wheel was horribly wobbling...I checked and found 5 broken spokes ... I was lucky to be able to ride back home...have you seen this case before and can you tell me why this happened...Thank you in advance

You probably had loose spokes before they broke, always worth a regular check - ride safe.

Why does no body know what tension it should be at?

What on earth is this $hit ? Listen to the 'tone' and thats that ? What if rim is not true ? What if there was some alignment correction done ? Tone can vary and for a good reasons. Wisdom in this here video is for 13-year olds who fix their moped or maybe for quick field checkup after you hit a boulder or something.
