It's nice that you're so comfortable talking about modern things in Sanskrit. Among the Latin community it can be hard to find new words, and there's a whole faction of people who are opposed to using Latin for contemporary topics and day-to-day conversation. Oh and I noticed that the Sanskrit word for ship "naukā" is very similar to the Latin word for sailor, "nauta". Neat!

Are you from latin community? Is there completely no one, who wants to use it as a spoken language?

You guys are doing a great job with the Spoken Sanskrit Series. I really appreciate it. I would suggest some improvements if you permit: (1) provide the phrases in Devanagari, too, maybe as separate subtitle files, and (2) improve the pronunciation of the "actors" in the series, they would benefit from it and the viewers will appreciate it, too. I am ready to help if needed.

Elizabeth B., not every word. Such word as vimāna actually already existed in sanskrit. It was used to describe legendary aircrafts.

What is the meaning of madhye?
@nimkati56276 жыл бұрын
In the middle or center.
@tstcikhthys4 жыл бұрын
In this context, it means "by / through the medium of", so _vimānaṁ madhyē_ means "by / through the medium of an aeroplane".

I thought car was Vahan, Bhrata? As in referring to a vehicle..
@nimkati56276 жыл бұрын
Vāhana is any kind of transport, not only mechanical. And yes, please don't delete अ sound, when speaking sanskrit. In hindi वाहन is pronounced as वाहन् (vāhan), because there is a schwa-syncope rule, but in sanskrit it should be pronounced as it is, i.e. वाहन (vāhana).
