There's a difference between mistakes and just not wanting to put stuff that's irrelevant or it doesn't matter. The time it takes to draw these things on every frame takes forever. Sometimes writers don't feel the need to make every detail correct. That's why they usually reuse frames or do simple deletes of objects

I like older Spongebob because the animation had a somewhat otherworldly vibe due to how unique the animation was in comparison to other shows at the time. Season 1 is the most prominent example of this as it uses cel animation. The newer Spongebob feels too safe and kid-friendly around the edges while the older Spongebob is more unique and mature in its style.
