I will acknowledge that I made a mistake in this review at 5:49. The robot boss is actually in the movie for a very brief moment. The game just makes it sound like it's referencing Plankton's Robotic Revenge, just as the robot enemies in the game do. That's pretty inexcusable to have this robot of all characters to be a boss in this game. Why not have an actual movie tie-in with Burger Beard? So much wasted potential on a $40 trail of shovelware. It's a damn shame. *Remember that this review was made before I saw the movie.*

+Fred5107 You're not entirely incorrect about the Robot Boss. Because the way the game introduces the boss portrays as if it was Plankton's robot from Plankton's Robotic Revenge. The cutscene when Mr. Krabs states "Hey, I thought your robots was on our side now!" with the following reply from Plankton "I thought so too, but this bot has gone haywire!". Which kind of entails it's one of the prior robots from Robotic Revenge yet still could be related to the movie scene. Either way HeroPants is shit. Happy new year!

Everything about this review was amazing and overall extremely accurate. Heavy Iron is what Spongebob games need, and Activision is just throwing all concern for the fans out of the window. It's obvious that the only reason Activision didn't want Heavy Iron to work on the game is that Heavy Iron would need too much money to compose a good soundtrack, prefect level designs, gameplay features, animations and etc. so they got some shitty company to make an unoriginal game that will only hold the attention of even a young child for about 15 minutes with no original soundtrack, level designs, gameplay features, animations and no fucking BUG TESTERS.

I have never seen a game before that is that lazy that they can't even do original music. Okay, one can make the argument that the SpongeBob Truth or Square videogame did something similar where they recycled music from BFBB and the Movie game, but they had an excuse: seeing that both the actual episode and videogame was SpongeBob's 10th anniversary, they wanted to fit the gimmick of remembering stuff (like our childhood experiences with BFBB and the movie game) and it worked (for the most part anyways). Heropants on the other hand was like: "hmmm lets see well music in a SpongeBob game... well let's just take soundtrack from PRR and the show, after all we owe the rights." IDIOTIC MOVE Heropants You had no excuse WHATSOEVER NONE.

It's such a shame that "Behaviour Interactive" dropped in quality. Especially with their licensed video games. This was the same company that developed "Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time" and "Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time Busters". Both well received Looney Tunes platformers.

Who cares about it at this point. The laws of Physics don't apply in this game. Shadows tilt towards the ground. Zed fighting is still a thing in this game, Clipping through floors is always fun. and lets not forget that the shadows clip through Squidwards feet. The grass can float too!

Real talk, though, they need to start painting spongebob better - in the old games, his 'holes' were just green-ish circles, exactly like in the cartoon. It's great that they're adding 'depth' to the holes, BUT, notice how they don't add any of that classic yellow-green into them. So the colors of spongebob look very off because it doesn't have that green hue to the holes, it's just a yellow 3d hole. Anyone else think that looks bad?

It's actually really sad when you think how Activision has made good movie licensed video games back in the past. -Kung Fu Panda on the PS2 had high ratings and lots of fun factor -Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs for the Nintendo Wii also had high ratings and lots of fun factors -Spider-man (2002) on the Nintendo Gamecube: Hands down the best Spider-man game I ever played. 2015 seems to be the year Activision destroys childhoods; I was a huge fan of the Tony Hawk games as a kid, back when Activision wasn't really as greedy as they are now, and when I heard they were making a new game for the PS4 and Xbox One, I got excited and hoped it would be good. I can tell you my hopes were raped up the ass and crushed when it hit stores shelves. I hope Activision burns in hell for this and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. 2015 was the year mine and many other people's childhoods died, but I hope Star Wars Battlefront won't officially kill my childhood. That game is the last chance for reviving my childhood in 2015, and I hope it's good.

BFBB was infamously underfunded and didn't have a long development period, but all that proves is that this shit is inexcusable. When a small group of people can throw together a game in about a couple of years using strapped funds and said game is regarded as one of the best platformers of all time, and a big company can't do that, you know there's something wrong. And it sucks because this game was made by Behaviour Interactive, who made The Mis-Edventures which I absolutely loved as a kid.

2003, a new company picks up the spongebob license and makes a game utilizing gameplay from super mario 64. Then, a sequel was made using the same gameplay and basic enemies/combat, but with new artwork and levels, and was developed as an adaption of the spongebob movie. Both of these games were amazing. 10 years later the exact same thing happens (this time using ratchet and clank as the basis for gameplay) and its infinitely worse. just goes to show that newer isn't always better.
