Spongebob ~ Just One Bite Deleted Scene in HD 4K

this got forcefully marked for k!ds so i deleted it. i thought about appealing their flag saying do you really want k!ds knowing how to light a match around gas? but i decided to just redo the video because i accidentally posted a 720p output when i ment it to be 4k originally so its even higher quality now.

I saw this deleted scene before seeing the actual episode itself, and I used to believe it was removed due to 9/11. The fact they air this in Canada is incredible, although since I saw this first, now seeing the edited US version feels weird.

THE REASON THIS WAS CUT: Standards and Practices as well as Nickelodeon did not like the idea of a match and gasoline being used for an explosion. They believed it too inimitable. Vincent Waller confirmed this in 2018. Also, the claims of it being removed after the 9/11 attacks is a false fact. Yes, the edit occurred around then and all airings from January 2002 onward lost this scene, but that just happened to be when they did the edit. The proof is that Squidward still explodes from eating too many Krabby Patties. I call this a false fact as it was the given reason until 2018 when it was disproven with the real reason.

This was sorta buried in time, but Jay Lender actually did confirm in 2007 that 9/11 was a major factor in this scene being censored as well as references to fire being censored in various kids' shows at the time.

late reply. really all they had to do was remove the match scene. then it would have has the opposite effect of kids thinking a dropped bucket of gas would expose with out a spark or fire lol.

ok just checked it out. thats ripped from the digi beta to dvd to computer and not proper de interlaced its also simlar quality to the already available one. if i could get the raw for this i could upscale it to 4k

It depends on where you lived, it was cut from american broadcasting but its still in Canadian, Korean and Bulgarian airings. Im Canadian and grew up with this scene still in, you have no idea how confusing it was when I first heard people saying it was deleted lmao

The Canadian airings, as well as the Serbian B92 and Korean EBS dubs, retained this scene. The Croatian RTL dub also dubbed it but left it out of the aired episode.

I doubt you will read this, but you should definitely try to do this with the few Rocko's Modern Life deleted scenes if you can! Somebody else already did it for the whole series, but without those cut parts in particular.

@@fruitsnackia2012​​⁠​⁠​⁠Yeah it's why I think it would be an interesting challenge to see someone do since there is allegedly some better sources for all of them slowly cropping up over the years. There's been some better quality uploads for most of them over the years on KZbin to the point where I think it's at least now possible, but I imagine it would still be difficult. There's also the Rocko picking berries and removed 10 seconds of Wacky Delly scenes. I can try to link you some uploads if you want me to, but knowing KZbin I'm not sure if it would let me. All of them shouldn't be too hard to find anyways. Actually I think the Wacky Delly one might be the hardest to do because of how most uploads of that scene contain a logo in a corner, so you'd probably have to piece it together from other footage to make them disappear. Fortunately though from what I noticed the logos have moved to different positions for a few of the uploads. I'm not an expert in quality though, so make all of that what you will, I just think having them in something better than crusty 480p or 740p would be good. If OLDTPBUSER and some others can piece together many parts of Ren & Stimpy from worse quality in a better way, then I'm sure the chances with Rocko should be just as difficult if not a little easier. All of this is a long way of saying that I think it can actually be done by now with enough patience and the right tools. I hope you or somebody gets to do it someday sooner rather than later. If you guys are wondering why this scene was deleted here’s some context, on September 11th 2001, 2 planes crashed into both of the twin towers of New York City and destroyed, and this episode played during that time so they had to change it up a lil.

Jay Lender confirmed the 9/11 theory in 2007. It's possible that both the imitatability factor and 9/11 both played a factor in the censoring.
