Mall Girl Pearl is what you get when SpongeBob becomes a side/background character, and it ends up being one of the best episodes. Shoutouts to the legendary Betty White for her role in this episode (rip). That’s something I noticed about S9: they got a lot of guest stars for their episodes, and I’m here for it

This is the first episode ever that Larry and mr krabs had a conversation...for the past 9 seasons they never talked before...and what surprised me is they are both crustaceans and they RARELY ever talked

They are actually really good friends behinds the scenes but the documentary makers choose not to highlight those interactions. There's only so much they can show in such short episodes and they decided to mainly focus on Mister Squarepants and his closer relations and interactions within the context of the relationship that Mister Squarepants has with those people. For example we mostly only ever see Miss Puff in her capacity as a driving school owner, as that's her relationship with Mister Squarepants, and so that's how we picture her persona being seen by the rest of the townspeople as well, but a lot of her "clients" don't even know that's simply the money laundering and trick to her driving around town part of her business.

It's a very inspirational episode and tbh the recovery process he goes through is really realistic. I've gone through similar rehabilitation myself and really relate to that. Larry is a literal ham.

Damn, the day has finally come when you guys react to an episode I actually haven't seen before (Mall Girl Pearl). I've seen all the others here but not that one. I used to be so obsessed with Spongebob and used to watch every single episode, even during the really bad seasons, but at this point my viewing became more and more sporadic. I've seen most of the rest of this season, a chunk of s10, and a bit of s11, but for the most part I'm gonna start being as new to these eps as you guys. Feels like the end of an era

But she just kinda a supporting character for that and for season 4 when it was her 16th birthday episode. And she does kinda get more spotlight at bossy boots where she get to work at the Krusty Krab.
