This is the true start of single tooth Patrick being a menace. They draw him with a single tooth to give allusions to him being like a baby and during those moments they have him do even dumber things. And they keep upping the stupidity in later episodes to the point where the stupidity itself is the only joke and not the context.

And now, this marks the end of good spongebob. When that is the writer's final idea, to make your main characters dumber, you know your show should end soon. And it should have, because Hillenberg wanted there to only be 3 seasons and a movie.

@bee-zeesoul1018 that's the problem on why so many franchises fail. Because if you run out of your best ideas, or think you accomplished everything you wanted, that's the time to stop. An example of how this succeeds is Gravity Falls creator: Alex Hirsh. He made only 2 seasons, and yes it could have been stretched out more, but he was aware that the series did all that it needed to. That was it. If you need a more sitcom esc. example rather than an episodic one, look at the show: The Amazing World of Gumball. I personally hate Season 4+ of the show, but the creators were aware they were losing steam (or still consistent depending on your opinion on the show) and so they stopped it after 6 seasons. I know there is a season 7 rumored, but it's been at least 6 years since the show ended, I think they have had enough time to plan.

If you haven’t noticed before starting the series they’ve already been told that the first three seasons and the movie are goated but everything after that sucked.
