Not in the slightest. This game admittedly doesn't stand well when you compare it to others. In fact, most (not all) would agree that Battle for Bikini Bottom is the best SpongeBob game ever made and it is a platformer that does stand well when compared to most platformers. Heck, a lot of people who play it like to compare to Banjo-Kazooie because there are some similarities but both are great games. If I made a list of my top 15 favorite video games of all time, Battle for Bikini Bottom would have a spot in the top 5. The SpongeBob Movie game is my second favorite SpongeBob game and I believe that it makes a much better sequel to Battle for Bikini Bottom than Truth or Square game does despite the fact that the plots have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Both are great games. This game is not the worst of the SpongeBob platformers but it would probably be a little ways down there, not to say that it's bad. That's up to you if you think it's bad or not though.

***** I agree with your sentiment. My childhood friends way back in the day never believed me when I said BFBB was actually a damn good platformer. Because it got the Spongebob theme, it seemed too childish for some, but BFBB copied elements (nothing wrong with that) from successful platformers such as Super Mario 64 and made a really good experience. Revenge of the Flying Dutchman definitely didn't age well, but it stands as an example of growth for the series of spongebob platforming games afterward

WOW!!!! While I really like this game, looking back at it, its pretty dark and creepy to be honest, like i am talking the plot, the enemies, even the quiet and darker older-graphics kinda creep me out like that circus and dark lighthouse parts, the music adds to this making it very eerie and even the person under me said the narrator was creepy, what were they thinking lol. However, I honestly think that is what makes it nostalgic, yup even more than battle of bikini bottom and the movie they are both still better and more cheerful toned, but this game was something that really takes me back even no matter how I look at it. Curse the current developers and there license of sponge bob games, all I am asking is for an awesome sponge bob platformer where you collect crap and move on to collect more crap.

Although this game was really fun for me back in the day, it looked creepy as hell to me, with the characters looking odd and the narrators voice. I always thought that the designs for the game were pretty crappy, and the script isn't the best, but it was a fun platformer overall. Certainly not the worst, that's for sure.
