Cleaning out house and moving..raised all my kids here, quite nostalgic and sad. Some guy walks up to me and says " I used to live here, can I come in and look". He told me how his family lived and loved the place 1958-1992. We all dissappear and nothing really changes. Time is inside out

I first heard this song in 2015 at a bar when I took this girl on a date. Not many people were there and it was just us together at the counter. This song is so beautiful and I fell madly in love with her. 5.6 years later I married her just two weeks ago! Each time I hear this song it influences me to reflect on our journey together and where we started!

I'm a gravedigger, and with covid-19, work has been grueling for many months. The last 8 days have been the busiest and darkest days I've had since I was deployed in the late 90's. Thanks everyone, sorry I never got notifications that anyone replied. I that evening when I got home and I was in a bad way mentally, and physically. Spoon definitely helped me a bit but things continued to be rough for me. I recently realized that I had borderline personality disorder and and still waiting to get my diagnosis so that I can get treatment but I have quit that job was working me 60 to 80 hours a week every week for almost a year straight. I now make $11 more an hour and only work 40 hours a week, so that was a big help. The more stress and anxiety I had, the worse my paranoia and mental state got. Thank you all for your replies and yes Tyson and Bella I am okay : ) Just when I think humanity is crap, a handful of strangers show me just how wrong I am, to each and everyone that replied, I hope you are happy and healthy... Thank you 🧡

Music serves one purpose for most all of us. The time, the place and the things we did matter not. The people we spent our time with together creates moments without time, moments to be replayed and experienced again no matter the space and time between those people. Music brings it all back to the surface, and you can be there again for a few minutes. One day you realize the places we went, to things we did, hold no weight at all, it was all about the times we had together, where what happened or Will happen before and after aren’t s thought.

I like all the little details that make this more than just another "indie rock song", which goes for the entire album pretty much. All the little textures, ambiences, and guitar distortions. Good stuff :D
@IntroSpectre6x310 жыл бұрын
I think you just defined indie rock, as a genre.
@ShikyoMitsukai10 жыл бұрын
IntroSpectre6x3 That's because it is. Besides the use to describe independent labels, its used to describe an alternative rock sound that doesn't tend to be aggressive and has a more pop aesthetic. Radiohead can be described as such, and so can Thee Oh Sees, or Woods. Its a broad term, but it is a genre its a single and ambiguous description of the band but it is one way to describe their sound.
@IntroSpectre6x310 жыл бұрын
That was rather my point with the comment, simply pointing out that it sounds exactly like you would expect "another indie rock song" to sound. That may or may not be a bad thing, depending on your outlook.

Is it possible to fall in love with a song? If I could marry a song, I would marry this one. Lyrics: Time's gone inside out Time gets distorted with This intense gravity I don't got time for holy rollers Though they may wash my feet And I won't be their soldier There's intense gravity in you (There's intense gravity in you) I'm just your satellite (I'm just your satellite) Ooh, and I know that time's gone inside out And now it's only like I told you Mmm, though they may wash my feet They do not make me complete Break out of character for me Time keeps on going when We got nothing else to give We got nothing else to give Ooh, cause our time's gone inside out I don't make time for holy rollers Mmm, there's only you I need They do not make me complete

A lot has happened since 2010. I saw them at the 9:30 Club in DC that year and it was electric. They certainly inspired me in my own journey as a musician. This music gives me the most visceral feelings. Listening to this is the closest thing possible to going back in time. It's the most painful and beautiful, tragic and haunting nostalgia. How much I wish things had happened differently since then. So much loss, grief, pain, struggle, suffering and trauma. Acceptance and believing in the process is the only path forward.
