Appar, who was aged 80 while on his way to Kailash to meet Shiva met a sadhu who was Shiva . Shiva tried to stop Appar from going to Kailash but Appar said he would die on the spot or he'll have the Darshan of Shiva. Somehow Shiva convinced Appar to take a dip in a nearby pond and rest and continue. Appar took a dip and lo! He found himself in Thiruvaiyyaru. Appar then understood ,the presence of the Lord is everywhere , Even in animals and all the creatures . In this time Appar wrote the song 'Madar Pirai Kanni Yaanai' . The composition is set in Ragam Navroj and Adi talam. I present this on account to celebrate World Music Day .
