They don't care because the elimination of the Grox just leaves an opening for someone else to take their place. Who else is better to fill that position than the species that eliminated the Grox? Nobody cares, because this brings up an interesting concept. Are you a hero? Or the next villain? That is yet to be decided, or has been decided already. Steve grants you the ability terraform planets instantly, so why do you think the Grox protected such a power? The same reason the player might want it. To completely take over the universe as their own. You could help other species prosper. Or you could make it to where only yours can prosper. It's your choice, and that is both a terrifying yet intriguing concept to the other species.

@@vbgvbg1133 There isn't. The Grox are cybernetic, live on low terra-score planets, and colonize on hundreds if not thousands of solar systems. They see the Staff of Life as a crutch for those who cannot enhance and enrich themselves through bodily altercations and warfare, but they understand it is a powerful relic, and may even be attempting to reverse engineer it to make more cybernetic enhancements for themselves. (Edit) With this in mind, the Grox might be the very cause of the events in Darkspore, using the Staff of Life to create singular lifeforms from scratch, suturing their parts together, and installing bionic weapons and enhancers, possibly even installing a mobile life support system into these creations, using what they know about the Staff. But for the most part, it proves no use until they can effectively reverse engineer it, which takes a lot of time. However, it could be expedited if some stray sentient managed to retrieve the Staff from the center of the galaxy. That's where we come in to play, I suppose.

"I don't know what to do now" YES! When i destroyed their last planet, after weeks of on/off playing, it felt like a major achievement. Until five minutes later, when I didn't know what to do and just started a new playthrough in the same galaxy, only to realize later that you still get the mission to find the grox and can never complete it.

Did it in 101 hours :-) There is a easy/fast way. Use staff of Life to build up new empires near Grox-Clusters. They will defeat them for money. Notice: The allied empire always try to conquer the nearest grox-planet. When too much other grox ships will come to support the nearest groxtarget, there will be no chatoption. So, look where the grox-supporters come from and kill those support planets first. then there will be a chat option. The bigger the empire, the more they can attack at the same time...

It would he nice if the galaxy cared about you defeating its greatest threat. Just have everyone in the galaxy know who you are, have them revere you. Make them reluctant to declare war and keen to ally with you.

I know it’s been two months so you’ve likely figured it out by now, but when I played and made it to the center of the galaxy, my range didn’t shrink after that. Once you make it to the center, you’re free to fly regularly, no matter how close you get to the core! :)

Thanks. I can't say for certain but it was probably between 150-300 hours of work. I watched Netflix/tv sometimes as I played and finished House of Cards through season 2, seasons 3-5 of Breaking Bad, all of Futurama twice, all of Rick and Morty, seasons 2-3 of Sherlock, Stranger Things, and like 10 movies or so. Add 50 hours on for when I played while I was traveling and building the purple spice community haha

It's still a very good game. I kind of wish that there was more content, though.... I've put about 100 hours into Spore and am pretty bored with it; meanwhile I've put over one thousand hours into Team Fortress 2 and maybe several hundred into Minecraft.... I tend to judge how good a game is by how many hours I spent on it before getting bored... What I noticed is that games that I play for hundreds of hours before getting bored are all multiplayer - or at least I play them in mostly multiplayer mode, so maybe Spore with a multiplayer version and a lot more content would give it new life? But I guess No Man's Sky - which I've never played - or EVE Online are sort of like that....
