Looking to the Wiki for the Grox- some of this information is very true. The grox were weak and miserable beings while organic. They had extremely weak bodies that disintegrated on T1-T3 planets, and they were toxic. No one is sure, and not many hints either, but they were "toxic" literally too toxic for you to take with you in your cargo hold so they also disintegrated. The grox's only big attribute was their accelerated intelligence. This allowed them to create cybernetic parts, but it didn't allow them to be any more stronger physically. But they did have about 2400 empires built around the center of the galaxy. This made them the strongest of all military wise. The wiki then explained that perhaps the cybernetic enhancements on the grox's physical form were a reminder that they were weak without technology. Along with this interesting fact, there is a written form of language for the grox themselves (view-able via the wiki). My biggest question is this: The empire that they destroyed. Who were they? The name is clearly written and there (multiple, too. Every game has a new one, Bradfowl I think is one.), but they have no physical form, and you cannot find them within the sporepedia. It isn't solid they were human, because the warning message has NO voice. Steve speaks english in-game, unlike the usual Simlish by every other being.

The part where you say that humans found the Grox makes a bit of sense because in the game when you find Earth, there's a wormhole that teleports you directly next to the center of the galaxy. Maybe human's created space technology and the very first thing they found was that wormhole. When they teleported to the center of the galaxy, they found the Grox, experimented on them and gave them cybernetic parts which gave them intelligence, then the Grox rebelled against the humans and exterminated them. I'm not sure what to say about what's in the center of the galaxy in this game since I've never been to it but one thing I can say is that this would make a really amazing story to read or movie to watch

In my theory, the humans created the grox, but the grox went evil and killed most of the humans. The last one remains in the galactic core, keeping the staff of life safe for those who deserve it, so they may one day defeat the grox. This is why the grox guard the core.

That's a major glitch you have in your game. The Grox CANNOT survive on t-1 or t-2 planets. And what SlimSlam means is that you might need something that the Grox cannot make to get to the galactic core. Maybe your ships only run on a special interstellar drive allowing you to go to the galactic core and bring allies with you. Haven't you ever wondered why the Grox won't trade with you no matter what? They don't have the technology.

In spore when you find that crashed space ship on the first mission, it looks like there's the writing 'Grox'. If you look closely, The first letter looks like a g and the second an r. Ok, Here my Theory. I will separate it into multiple sections. The Fall Of Humans: When you start the game in the cellular stage, Humans exist. When you begin getting DNA North and South korean tensions rise, shortly following a small war. Once this happens, the USA joins in pushing North Korea back closer to China. China and Russia join in following Japan, Canada, France, Britian, and Germany. More and more join this war until this turns into WW3. North Korea launches a First strike at South Korea and Alaska and manages to hit it. At this point you are halfway through the cellular stage. The USA launches nuclear missiles at North Korea and China also launches nuclear Missile at the USA. This war went from a small war to a full on Nuclear Exchange. At this point, You are 3/4ths completed and almost all Humans are Extinct. Almost all. How the Grox Came To Be: Following The Nuclear War, The Mutated Children of WW3 lived in the constant fighting of it. They have mutated, and gotten cancer. Renaming Humans Remove the cancer and replace it with robotic parts and die off. The Grox grow up, Reproduce, and Use the ruins of Human Civilization to become powerful. At this point you have just gotten on land. The Rise Of Grox: The Groxs grew up in WW3, Due to this, They have extreme fighting tendencies. They think they are the best and everyone else should be destroyed because of WW3. Once they Get Spaceships, They leave Earth and find better planets and Colonize. They get a new home world and began conquering the Galaxy. Steve. The Last Human Alive: Steve was an engineer and scientist. He grew up in the Midwest. When the Nuclear Exchange began, He saw it coming way before hand. He was prepared and managed to survive WW3. At the end, He had the technology to leave Earth and live in a space vessel which is what he did. He managed to get some of the Grox's Technology to leave. By the time this happens you only need a little more DNA to reach Civilization. The Effects of the war on Earth: Earth was a T3 before WW3 started. After the Nuclear exchange it became a T0 and was left in ruins. Radiation was all across the globe and the Groxs didn't help. Once the Groxs left Earth had made some recovery and became T1.

My theory is that everything that takes place on spore is millions of years before humans existed and the Grox are the oldest life forms in the galaxy therefore, they are the most advanced. there constant use of advanced technology over the thousands of years has caused the bodies to shrink and become more useless while they relied more on there technology for everything else. being that they are the oldest life forms in the galaxy their species probably developed during a time when the galaxy was more hostile and there ancestors( bacteria) were forced to adapt to harsh environments (T0 planets). life itself does not kill them, the things that most life requires such as oxygen and water probably kills them. Now as for Steve, i think hes an ancient entity that dates back before everything in the galaxy maybe even the universe. English could be an ancient language which was later taught to the humans while they were less advanced by an alien race (the one you created in spore) when visiting the planet after defeating the grox and meeting Steve. Steve could also be apart of the first civilization ever. and after billions of years of evolving he has became ridiculously advanced and he beyond our comprehension of intelligence.

What if they made a game that explained how the grox came to power. I think a good setup would be kind of like the star wars prequels where at first the grox are your allies and will assist you in achieving a better galaxy. Unfortunately though, at one point you end up finding the galactic core. You are unable to traverse the area property, but luckily the grox are able to use their technology to overcome the gravity field. The grox find out that they are unable to enter the core and so your empire is tasked with developing a wormhole key. The grox then colonise around the galactic core and once they hear the research on wormhole Key is done they immediately betray your empire, leading to a war, however they never managed to get there hands on a wormhole key. They overpower your empire and take superiority over the galaxy. As some of the settlements around the edge of the galaxy are about to be destroyed they launch an astroid that they imbued life into, onto the origin Plantes from the first game with the hope that the species that grow from the cells in that astroid will grow to one day defeat the grox. What remained of your empire then speeds over to the Galactic core in hopes of finding somewhere that the grox cannot find them, and they succeed on finding another universe, but Steve stayed near the exit of the galactic core in order to gift the staff of life to the player to thank them if they succeeded in pushing back against the grox, or if they did ally with the grox, then to remind them if what really matters in the galaxy and how all who oppose life (the grox) are evil. He then waits for millions of years untill finally in comes his savior... You! ... So what do you think?

I believe that the grox is a very old race in the galaxy, maybe one of the oldest. They found the staff of life and used it to colonise basicly all planets close to the core. They protect the core because they don't want any other species to grow a strong enough empire to threaten them and/or they only think that the greatest race (themselves) deserve the power. They are cyborgs because they are war machines so it's basically just for war pourposes

My theory: millions of years before now, there was a very advanced civilization with amazing technology, they were called Xenoggians (from planet Xenogg mentioned in the game). This civilization realised that they were one of the few inteligent species with technology in the galaxy, most of the other planets of the galaxy hadn`t life. So, they started terraforming the other planets of the galaxy. When they finished terraforming almost all the planets, they needed to protect those planets from aliens from other galaxies, so they created the Grox, a cyborg alien by genetic engeneering (the game mentions that the Grox were a experiment that has not concluded). The Grox were obligated to protect the galaxy, but they suffered an error on their cyborg brain, known as the error 42, which makes them to hate life beings. They become evil and killed all the Xenoggians and other intelogent species too. Years after that, the Grox became aware of another galactic empire, that came from a planet that had not been terraformed by Xenoggians. That empire was the Human Empire from Earth. Humans had a condition that other empires did not have: Humans developed their technology faster than others. So in a few decades they were now as advanced as the Grox Empire. Because of this, Grox felt scared because Humans were able to kill them so the Grox attacked Humans and they started a very big and violent war. Humans destroyed 90% of the Grox colonies, they also destroyed Xenogg, which was now T0 and the capital of the Grox Empire. The other species from the galaxy only destroyed less than 1% of the Grox colonies. The Grox were close to extintion, until they send The Staff of Death to Earth, the capital of the Human Empire. The Staff of Death changed Earth from T3 to T1, and made Earth imposible to inhabit by Humans. Now that Earth was almost destoyed, the Humans lost connection with their other planets, so Humans were now weak, the Grox used this as an advantage and attacked Humans. Humans lost the war, but before the Grox killed them all, they send a big spaceship with millions of them, this spaceship was capable of traveling to other galaxies, the galaxy of Spore was now in control of the Grox, and if Humans stay there, they will be killed. Humans escaped to the Galaxy of Andromeda by going to the centre of the Spore galaxy. They also put a tiny spaceship controled by a robot to patrol the centre of the universe, that spaceship was called "Steve", the mission of Steve is to find a Civilization that could help Humans to get again the Earth and to kill all the Grox

My theory of the Grox, Grox and Humans were the first ones to live in the milkyway. No other life could be found. (to prove this, right now we can't find life like ours). And as the grox entered the space stage, so did the humans! They both made fast allys because of the fact they both were the only sentient. The Grox were weak and had very little robot parts to help them live on. Their bodys were never fit for living a heathy life. So they humans made them a better robot suit we see today. However, the Grox were amazed by the tect we have, computers, TVs, gaming, law and other stuff. It was like the human king spoilt his workers too much, so the Grox tried to make stuff like Humans. They studied the nukes we made, and they came up with the planet buster. Only the bad thing is it blew up on the Grox homeworld so they lived near core where their 3rd ever clamied planet was. However, a man named Steave wanted to help out the Grox with their ways of not living onT1-3 planets. So Steave reacearched terefroming. And stole a ship. This ship had god-like powers such as speaking into a mind or traving though a wormhole with no warm. Steave went across the Milkyway and used up 56 of the 99 uses of what he called, The Staff Of Life. 43 uses remain. So he went to the Grox empire. And used the staff of life on the planet the Grox owned. He said that he tried to make the Grox live on T1-3 with no pain... but the end result ended up killing off the whole planet. Suddenly the Grox called war with the humans! In the end Grox was weak, they still had two planet busters. The first one blew up one of three planets Humans lived on. But the second one shott off the other way into space. And landed on a planet Steave used the staff of life on without blowing up. But back to the Grox, they couldn't fight well at all! They are too weak. On a computer, scanning Grox, they have only 23HP. And this is even with their robot inplants. They'd have 2HP! So the Grox made hyperepics! They were epic of epics! The hyper epic wiped humans off their other planet, also earth. This says why no life is on earth. And untouched. A hyper epic could only damage land when enraged. And their power when enraged could just split the planet in half. All animals and Humans lived no more on earth. Their last planet was safe because they knew the Grox had nothing else non-costly to wipe out Humans. However... the Grox came up with a master plan... they told the Humans face to face they are now evil being, the Grox made everything they had look evil. Black and spikes. The eye turned Red on their robotic side. And the master plan worked very well. They made the robotic army that can take over planets in seconds. If failed. Each failiure will result in a planet buster blowing in the pod that lands (most of the time crashes). And so they went to the Humans last planet. And wiped out! The end of the human race was there. Or was it... the Grox spy pods saw a ship fly by. It was STEAVE! So the Grox chased him to the core... then the Grox stoped... and ran away, they thought steave was going to use the staff of life on the last of Grox planets. As they fled, they place citys on millions of planeta around the core, soon a billion. Steave knew what they are going to do. So he said, farewell Grox, you've been a good ally. May the spore be you. That phrase echoed in the master king Grox's head... for the rest of the empire life. Steave gone into the supermassive wormhole. Later on 57 billion Grox planets were placed at the core. The planets were Steave used the staff of life on, entered a space age! One near earth cloned the planet busted and later empires would have a few. But these empires made their own T3 planets with other meathods. The Grox counted 790 million space agers at the time, 250 million were destroyed and the Grox were the most powerful and most feared empire... not only in the Milkyway... no... they were feared thoughout the cluster the milkyway thrived in! Almost no other empire knows about Humans... but spode beleivers. They think humans are real and they wereship steave. Any want to go the the center see whats in there. Bard never thought the grox were fun. Traders hated Grox just like any spode haters or beeivers. The Grox are the oldest empire to be known ever since this big bang! The Grox are going for Milkyway domation! Someone needsto stop them and save the Humans... someone needs the power! To power to make life! And end Grox! Someone needs to start the Grox... WAR!

In this time line, in this world, this universe the humans may not exist! Steve mentions other worlds enriched by this one. One of these must have humans in it. Steve must therefore, not just be time-traveling, but a traveler of universes, the only human able to reach the final plane of existence. Or perhaps he is one of many, sent by the higher council to keep on eye on this world, and perhaps he gave life to it...creating the grox!!

I think the humans either created or uplifted the Grox who then proceded to annhilate them once they surpassed them in tech. Spore takes place millions of years after the humans extinction, with all civilizations of that time being destroyed. Similar to Mass Effect's story with the Grox being a more chaotic evil version of the Reapers. Spode is the Zealot god one that could exist or not. The quest of Galactic Adventures seems to suggest he does exist and can kill those who threaten it's worshipers but it could also be a spell activated via prayer. From Tribal stage we know that magic exist as the healing canes work somehwat like that. And in the spirits are restless mission we aid a druid with preventing a bunch of wolves to destroy a village. I believe the God that will come refers to the future attainment of the Staff of life, created by humans as a last ditched effort to defeat the Grox. It also corelates with the more natural belief of Shaman nations, The God that will come is the last act of humanity to save the next species from the Grox.

I like things that make you think :3 But, I must ask: How would you explain the humans coming to the Spore Galaxy from the Milkyway Galaxy? The years in the Spore Galaxy may have occurred long before the years of humans and space travel - but of course, that isn't necessarily true, for all we know, the Spore Galaxy could have only been created millions of years after the Milkyway Galaxy. However, I do like the idea of Steve being the last human in the Spore Galaxy and being chased to the centre of the galaxy by the Grox and developing the technology for the Staff of Life! It is quite interesting. Overall, the theory has some information missing here and there, but the concept is pretty cool!

The Milky Way galaxy is the galaxy you play in. You can actually find Earth in space stage. I like the concept as well, and it's interesting to know that the file for Grox is Borg backwards.
