More than two years after this video released and after flying a Sport 2 this past season, I now understand so much more about what Steve said in this video... and my Sport 3 is being built right now!

Is this sport 3 as easy to fly as the sport2 ?

You and your wife do this sport? Wow! Y’all know what’s up! My wife, even in next life, would never support me to join the sport even though I’m waiting until I’m financially ready to train and buy my own wing.

I was very impressed to see this glider, in person, both on the ground and as it flew way way over me in the air. I'll put my order in just as soon as you start making them in my size. :)

I would love to see a similar video on the T2. I flew an HPAT 145 for about 10 years when I lived in San Francisco about 20 years ago. I am thinking about getting back into it. Is the performance of the new S3 as good, or better than the old HPAT 145 or would I be happier with the T2?
@tontar4 жыл бұрын
Nobody answered you yet? I will, then. I would say that sink rate is better, handling is significantly easier, and glide is easily as good, if not better. I don't think that the Sport 3 is nearly as good for aero, which is a departure from the "performance" of the HPAT, but who really cares. As far as a "soaring" glider, the Sport 3 is superior, and far more fun to fly. Lighter, easier to launch, easier to land, easier to thermal, easier gliding.

Very nice. And lighter than the Sport 2. Well done!

Nice video. I owe Sport 3 and have hard time to pul out tip wands by breakdown. Can you Steve make a video how to do this properly please?
@FLYWillsWing4 жыл бұрын
leave the wands installed until you release the tension to the crossbar. fold the wings slightly back, release the lever and pull the cap off without delay. It almost falls off.
@samo-nx2pl4 жыл бұрын
@@FLYWillsWing Thanx for that. What if I put bearings into the tip wands on my Sport3? Lika on T3. Would it be better handling? I am 74kg and it behaves a bit stiff..
@dj-flights73764 жыл бұрын
To release the tip wand, see the second half of this guy’s video. I actually grab the wand with one hand and push it towards the keel as I release the lever with my other hand. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGS0coqtrauJecU And yes, release the crossbar tension and remove batons before you takeoff the tip wand. (And during setup install them before you tension the crossbar and put in any batons)

@@samo-nx2pl The easiest and most effective way to improve the handling of a Sport 3 that's a little on the stiff side is to loosen the leading edge 1 hole increment as described in the manual. Mylar S3s tend to be a little stiffer and usually benefit from this adjustment.

I have flown my U2 160 but as had its day 10 years old, Steve do you think the S3 170 is for me
@FLYWillsWing5 жыл бұрын
The U2 has an edge in racing a fast task in competition. The 170 is better at everything else -- slower stall speed, better climb performance, easier to fly and land, lighter, smaller control bar and just all-round more fun to fly. Kinda like a U2 with the speed range shifted down a few mph and easier to control.
