Even 4 years later this is still the best video I've found on installing this, seeing exactly how you disconnected cables and the little comments while installing on what you're doing make all the difference. Thank you very much, my install went super smooth.

Just now figured out you guys are located in Michigan. I'm 20 & just bought a 2019 Ninja 400 for my first street bike. Learning a lot of things by watching this channel. When i get my endorsement and insurance on it in spring ill see about taking a trip from Brownstown up there to check things out. Seems like you guys are honest people with a passion for this stuff other than a bunch of salesmen trying to make a quick buck. Thanks for the tutorials and the tips. Keep up the good work!

I’m afraid Vagabond is the way to go if you’re keeping your stock lights. One solid piece , very comprehensive install videos 👍
@sportbiketrackgear6 жыл бұрын
Zero personal experience with that brand. Took a quick look at it, very simple design that needs the OEM rear signals and plate light to be installed. The Yosh eliminator ships with an LED plate light, includes a plate frame and offers the ability to run aftermarket LED signals (optional brackets required). End of the day depends on what you prefer on your bike. I have installed 4 fender eliminators on the Ninja 400 now, each one offers a different look and features. - Van

Sportbike Track Gear Absolutely, it’s all about preference. Great job with your Ninja 400 vids 👍. Perhaps a new Project bike to look at would be that New Honda CB300R..Yes it’s only a 300, But one of the best looking little bikes out there, makes a great beginner & or 2nd bike that’s inexpensive.

Awesome video...thanks for making it so easy to do at home. I'm looking at getting a Ninja 400 and wanted to install this after getting the bike. I'm definitely not a track guy and was planning on a back roads/sport touring style riding with the Ninja. I was looking at the Zero Gravity sport touring windscreen and wondered if you had any experience with it? Also, since this eliminates a lot of the fender/mudguard, would you recommend something like a Puig fender extension, for my intended riding style? Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide!
@sportbiketrackgear3 жыл бұрын
The ZG windscreen will get some wind protection for sure. Personally I do not think you will need the fender extension if you leave the rear fender on the bike. - Van

Possible simpleton question as I am brand new to riding, but you are disconnecting the battery before doing any wire work/removal, and then obviously reconnecting to test everything after correct?

I got this Yoshimura fender eliminator and the turn signal relay failed after 2 weeks. After another 2 weeks of phone calls, I FINALLY got a replacement relay from Yoshi. The turn signals aren't super bright either. If I had do it over again, I'd get a different kit.
@sportbiketrackgear6 жыл бұрын
Did you reuse the stock rear turn signals or install a set of aftermarket signals? If you reused the stock signals installing this fender eliminator would not have any affect on the turn signal flasher. - Van

I did not reuse the stock turn signals. I used Yoshimura's LED turn signal kit designed for this bike.

At the end of the day, I don't like the the fact that the turn signal brackets are a part of the plate assembly mounting. One hit to the plate and you have more than just a bent plate.

Feel like the keni moto one is just as good and its like a third of the price. 1. slots for the oem turn sigs 2. You reuse the tag light, 3. No cheesy branding is visible. 4. Tucked up close under the tail just like this one. 🤷 I will spend money on quality performance parts, but spending over $100 for a fender elimnator is WILD.

@sportbiketrackgear6 жыл бұрын
If you have a check engine light on the R6 after installing a fender elim kit the only thing that comes to mind would be leaving the exhaust servo motor being unplugged (this is assuming you unplugged it for some reason during the install). Could be a coincidence. - Van

What about the reflectors on the OEM rear fender? Many jurisdictions require them and it is illegal to not have them is equipped. You would think someone would have come up with a plate light connector to avoid splicing wires. $130?! Are you nuts? There's about $10 in material cost. I'll give them $10 for overhead, $10 for advertising and your up to $30. Throw in a $20 spot for "gee-wiz profit" and its up to $50. Over priced. Being new to "the bike scene" it sure seems like all the companies are out to gouge customers out of their hard earned cash. So sad.
@sportbiketrackgear5 жыл бұрын
There is not as much profit in this as you might think. Yoshimura manufactures these here in the US which adds some cost. I can assure you no one in this industry is getting rich. - Van
