Marcus Smart for Ricky Rubio, Kemba Walker for KP Lineup Rubio, Brown, Tatum, KP, Thompson
@ryanwilkinson79913 жыл бұрын
The positions 2-4 are going to be fine, if they can get a PG that can create for others and a solid centre while keeping JB and JT the team would be way better off.

I feel like the Celtics have potential to become the 2014-2020 Rockets, A good to great team, that everyone believed CAN win a championship but is just stuck never making it past the ECF because of the dominance at the top of the conference (Rockets- Warriors : Celtics - Bucks/Nets)

Only if they trade Kemba because Kemba is always going to be the one holding the team back from winning in the Regular Season because he's a Career choker in the Regular Season.

@Rico Pierre yea. just trade someone else to make the contracts match. Cj is better than Smart anyway so I think it would work

It's very interesting because if you think about it... Losing to the Healthy Nets, without more than half the starting lineup, including Jaylen Brown, is not quite a disastrous outcome for the Celtics... Imagine if the Sixers were on this situation, losing to the healthy Nets, without half of their starting lineups, nobody would be surprised... The problem is going forward...

You are forgetting one other Kemba trade option: Kemba + picks to unload his contract. Similar to what Philly did to get rid of Horford. Assuming the Celtics hire a player friendly coach, free agents would be drawn towards playing alongside the Jays. Future picks may have low value.
@farquadshmoogle91203 жыл бұрын
with Brad Stevens' system was about team ball. Celtics now have 3 players that dont really enjoy playing that way. Tatum is a star, Jaylen thinks he is, and Kemba was a star in Charlotte, but has to play 3rd to Tatum and Brown, which he isnt use to. This team will all depend on who they get to be the coach. Most times going back to a coach isnt great, but Hayward was a good fit with Stevens. Hayward was a 15 ppg 5 rpg 5 apg player. that is what is needed in a Stevens' system.

They just lost to arguably the greatest offensive team ever. I personally dont think theyre stuck in the middle. They just need their injured players back and they'll be contenders.

Lonzo Ball, Dante Exum, Avery Bradley, Nerlens Noel, and Richuan Holmes are probably guys that Boston can afford and upgrade a bit. Other than maybe Lonzo, none of them are huge difference makers tho.

Kemba is not untradeable. He just has to be attached to a star and or moved in a multiteam trade.
@Cjballin83 жыл бұрын
I don’t know man, trading Kemba isn’t impossible. The 6ers traded Horford, and many thought that was impossible. I know Al was making less money, and it’s also a front loaded deal, unlike Kembas. I just think the Celtics could use some picks or assets in order to unload Kemba for some average type player on a team with a ton of cap. The immediate problem solver and really one move they could pull off that would change things a bit would be creating cap by somehow trading Kemba and Smart, then making a run for Lonzo. Not sure how possible it is, but Zo would help this team gain back their elite defense and also be a much needed playmaker on offense.

I'm sure people are quick to go back at it, but the core of Tatum and Brown seem like an ideal fit with John Wall (when Healthy) He has the playmaking, slashing, and defensive tools to be a primary creator. It gives your two wings chance to work off ball/create in their spots, and he's MUCH better defensively than Kemba, Thomas, or Kyrie ever was. Say Boston trades Kemba & Fournier to Houston, draft compensation to OKC along with Ojeleye or Pritchard Houston sends John Wall and Eric Gordon to Boston Okc sends a couple seconds to Houston to get in on the deal .
@lordoffaiyum97273 жыл бұрын
Thing is Kyrie played 1st team defense here. He was amazing and no media ever said so. Just went with typical assumptions instead of really watching games. Kyrie was 1st team D in my opinion here. Slept on

I actually think they might be better off picking one to build on and flipping the other. Boston kinda strikes me as a team that needs a clear direction.

If they can resign Fournier I say keep the same group Kemba-Smart-Brown-Tatum-Timelord Pritchard-Fournier-Langford/Nesmith/Parker-Thompson T If healthy that team can compete for a title. Look at the first 3 games vs Brooklyn. Game 1 nk Brown, 7 min left only down by 3. Game 2 blowout (Tatum only played 22 min) game 3 controlled the whole game won by 7.

Me personally I’d run it back one more year see if Kenna can stay healthy make a small move or two at the trade deadline n see what the new coach can maximize if by this time next year they are in the same then I’d be seeing what I can do to move Kemba’s contract along with some other parts But I’d run it back one more time me personally

Maybe they should go after Lonzo. He matches their timeline and is capable of playing around other players like Tatum and Brown.

Alright so this gunna sound wild because I don’t think anyone really expects Draymond to get moved. I think the Dubs should really consider it but what about Smart and Thompson for Green? There would have to be picks involved or a young player or 2 obviously but that trade seems ideal for both sides to me.
