Brawn GP was just one victory short of making the list in just the one season they competed. I just love how Brawn GP is such an oddity. I remember the first race of the season the team had almost no sponsors. After they won the race every company wanted their name on their car.
@tcmn19823 жыл бұрын
Don't be romantic. "Every company"? Brawn GP had several sponsors but few had contract for all season like Henri Floyd (for clothes) and many sponsored only for one or two races. The team had to hunt sponsors and it was big news if Brawn GP would gone last until the end because of lack of money. The world was in recession. Richard Branson's Virgin almost stopped the sponsor because of the high cost. And no one trully believe in that car, except for Ross Brawn, his team, his pilots and F1 fans. This kind of trouble only praises the team's effort.

@@sharl_leg FIA has to react faster, the dominations are too long
@Allyphant29094 жыл бұрын
@@sharl_leg The FIA doesn't try to stop them? Before COVID-19 we were about to head into a second major regulations overhaul in 7 years. They unfroze engine development because the Mercedes power train was that good. The cost cap is designed to smack right at the heart of Mercedes's organisational dominance. The change in aero regs to reduce the massive aero advantage Mercedes has had over recent years, too. Ferrari dominated to a significant extent (though not exclusively) because of tyres, so the FIA changes the points system and the tyre regs to even the field up. Red Bull dominated because of blown diffuser technology and their flexible front wing so the FIA ban them (flexible front wings were already banned but Red Bull found a way around the tests) to even the field up. Mercedes dominate because of their engine, so the FIA unfreeze engine development and then make the cars far more reliant on aero performance to even the field up. Mercedes dominate again so the FIA then makes the cars far less reliant on aero performance, refreezes engine development now that there is something close to parity, and stops the biggest teams using a financial advantage to out-develop their competitors to even the field up. The rules have changed to slow Mercedes down just as much as with Red Bull and Ferrari. Mercedes have just been far better at adapting, staying ahead, and sometimes pulling even further ahead. It is also worth remembering that Ferrari had the quicker car on more weekends than Mercedes in 2017 and 2018. Bottas was behind both Ferraris and a Red Bull in 2018 and behind Vettel in 2017. Mercedes won the titles that year because they had a better lead driver. The two cars were roughly equal, it is just that Hamilton thrashed Vettel
@LunnarisLP4 жыл бұрын
@@sharl_leg like the other guy said, you are talking bs. Mercedes simply is best at adapting, and they have the best drivers, therefore they deserve the dominating position they hold. Yep, before the British teams began transforming F1 to the world's leading motor sport in the 1960's. Rear-engined cars, monocoque chassis, engine as a stressed member of the chassis, wings, inboard brakes etc etc. When Lotus won the 1965 Indy500 with Jim Clark it was proof the American USAC (Indy) roadsters weren't the most advanced racing series. Ferrari tried to beat the USAC roadsters at Indy in 1952 but failed even to finish the race. Btw, this is why Ford went to John Wyer (British), Eric Broadley(British) and Roy Lunn(British) to design the Ford GT40 and to Cosworth(British) to design the most successful F1 engine ever the Cosworth DFV V8. Btw, the present day Mercedes F1 team is based in Britain (both chassis and power unit) as is the Red Bull team (Milton Keynes). Past glory is no good to present day Baghdad, Iraq - even if it was a scientific center full of great mathematicians, surgeons, astronomers and architects a thousand years ago. What matters is today. Peace.

I Recommend that you combine Renault and Benetton's win tally. Benetton sold to Renault F1 team. They sold it on ('Lotus') and bought it back (Renault Sport F1 team) now racing as 'Alpine'. That Enstone-based team that we all know as Benetton / Renault.

@SharvinPlayz We're not even twelve races in. If Mercedes would've won all races up to the twelfth, they'd be on the same spot as Williams. We first of all haven't had that many races until now and second of all they didn't even win all races, so it will take them at least until race 15 to actually be ahead of Williams. Are you dumb?

Before the Second World War Mercedes-Benz competed in the European Championship, winning three titles. The marque debuted in Formula One in 1954. After winning their first race at the 1954 French Grand Prix, driver Juan Manuel Fangio won another three Grands Prix to win the 1954 Drivers' Championship and repeated this success in 1955. Despite winning two Drivers' Championships, Mercedes-Benz withdrew from motor racing after 1955 in response to the 1955 Le Mans disaster.

There is no rush. Our advantage on others is so huge, there really is no rush. Those whok now about F1 know it's just a matter of time before the mighty red italian cars get back on top...and by that time you'll probably see Mercedes leave again because that is just one of the big differences between a mercenary team and real historical team

90 wins in 6 years for Mercedes, FIA was very quick curbing Ferarri's dominance of 2000-2004, and Ferrari had actual competition in 2000, 2001 and 2003 in McLaren & Williams BMW! And they say Ferrari have FIA in their pocket... Sure! LOL
@ChrisMcLaren6664 жыл бұрын
They are changing the regulations every year trying to stop Mercedes. don't you remember how the car looked before 2017? They also banned a lot of Mercedes technical solutions, like FRIC suspensions. They removed the tokens regulation for the engine upgrades (which every team agreed for before 2014) to make other engines recover ground faster. Mercedes gave some of their know-how about the engine to ferrari in 2015 to make their recovery faster (Ecclestone said that to an Italian journal, look for that), FIA is still gifting ferrari 100+ million $$ bonus just for their name to make them competive even after a season of failures like 2014 (other teams don't have such privilege. Only need one bad year and you lose money prize, sponsors etc). Still have veto power. Last year fia saved ferrari ass after the cheating engine saga, instead of dsq ferrari from the championship they made a secret deal no one knows what is about. So yes, ferrari still have fia in their pocket. Btw, 2001 was a ferrari domination. Schumacher won 9 out of 17 races. More than 50%. In 1999 FIA gifted ferrari a costructor championship by allowing ferrari to win the Malaysian GP with a proven illegal car (look for ferrari illegal bargeboards sepang '99) In 2003 fia gifted ferrari the championship by making michelin changing their tyres structure for the last three races. Yes, in 2005 they made that no-tyre-change rule but: 1) ferrari built a dog of a car regardless of the tyres. 2) it lasted only one year and in 2006 ferrari was back as a championship contender. In 2007 fia punished McLaren for the spyjoke-story just to gift ferrari another championship. Renault and Toyota were found guilty of the same crime but never faced the same penalties as McLaren. Maybe because they were not in a championship fight with ferrari? Just maybe mh. In 2008 FIA stole a memorable win from Hamilton to gift it to Massa, in SPA. Almost won another championship because of this political gift. In that Ecclestone interview i mentioned above, Bernie admitted that during his and Mosley's years at the top of FIA/FOM, they always tried to make ferrari win, because it was the best outcome from a marketing perspective for the sport, since ferrari is the team with the large number of followers. Hope these facts will open your eyes, peace. P.s. sorry if i made any grammatical errors, but as you can probably imagine english isn't my first language.

@@ChrisMcLaren666 Very good resume. May be there are more not publicly disclosed? Since many years ago i suspect Ferrari is related to whatever italian "maffia" could exist as they go out without punishment from FIA authorities (as you remarks above). Not just for the sake of spectacle?.
@ChrisMcLaren6664 жыл бұрын
@@augustoenriquebarretoreyes6735 i think Ecclestone's confession is the best proof we have. There was an agenda to help ferrari, it's clear. Fortunately liberty media seems like is trying to stop the economic privilege ferrari have, but what happened last year with the engine is still unbelievable. We still have a long way to go. Btw I don't think there's any mafia involved lol just a strong political power
@giuseppemaggio58944 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisMcLaren666 LOL you should care about Merdclaren not winning a constructor in the past 20 years and not winning A SINGLE RACE in the past 8 years. And btw, since you've spent so much energy in complaining about Ferrari 2019 engine, why don't you complain about the 2020 Mercedes engine which is pretty much the exact same thing? With the SLIGHT difference that Ferrari was not cheating (engine was declared illegal for 2020 but not 2019, just like Mercedes DAS for 2021) while Mercedes is FULLY CHEATING and this will most likely be a Spy story 2.0 considering the term was PRIVATE between Ferrari and the FIA
