I’ve been wagering 45 years. Up until, IDK, 2000, only major sports options available & about 4 options on each game. It was very difficult to win consistently. The books were raking in $$, & they definitely were trying to equal up betting on both sides of a number. It’s the only way they survived. I don’t think it’s even possible for books to equal up these days. Too many bettors & too quickly books get tsunamied with volume. Yes, I realize books today use computers that can handle the volume, but the live action market is probably the books diceiest offerings. So, in my experience, it’s much easier to win today. Thousands of options daily, bettors can manipulate numbers to their comfort level. Much easier to find niche sports to hammer & find a few that a bettor can deep dive on. Lastly, the information available is 1000x better than the old days. Yes, books can adjust to whatever info edge the bettor has access to, but they can’t be on top of every Turkey soccer match or Korean table tennis😂

I've been betting since the late 80s and agree that it's easier to win now simply because I have better access now to replays than I did in my early punting days. I spend a couple of hours a week going over all the races in the class of races I specialise in (UK Horse Racing) and it's made a huge difference to my ROI.

Interesting. I like this angle. Question: what can you see in replays, that you don't see in the logged times in the book. Thanks and BoL 🍀
@NickPalfrey83 ай бұрын
@@wagzwagerz I don't even look at times tbh. I look at how the race took shape, how the horses travelled and finished and look for future angles usually in the form of an eye catching horse's pedigree. Meaning lets say a horse finished a fast finishing 2nd over a mile but is bred to appreciate 10f plus my take is even if he or she is put up a couple of pounds that won't cover their likely improvement. These horses I follow, most of them are unexposed 3 year olds.

@@LandofTheTree I'm only a small bettor, not pro or anything but my ROI is decent to be fair. I work in a bookies part time, most punters are sheep. It's not that hard to win a little, just specialise and show some discipline. I think I am a bit shit lol

So not a beer person at all ever anymore. The but optimal beer is the post-mow/en route to shower and finish it right as your getting in. Optimal on all fronts. I don’t think it’s even debatable.

I think you both misunderstood the wife/kids early airport scenario. You go to the airport early when you're flying solo for some peace and quiet by yourself.
@huckleberryfinn87952 ай бұрын
If Johnny was smart, he would promote people going to the airport early so they can catch their flight and if they have downtime they should watch Circles Off. So they guarentee not missing the flight and get a whole podcast in. 😂

Curious as to what the questions about illegal activities are about. Are we talking about betting with local Johnny Knuckles types or something else?
