@@carsonnations1497 - I find it hard to believe the Rox will draft anybody except Sheppard. Just my opinion, but I have to believe he's incredibly tempting for them. And he should be available. If Clingan is there does it change the math for them? Probably not. But he's going to be a good player. So it wouldn't be a bad pick at all.

Stone can’t be crazy enough to burn that #3 pick on Reed, who’s an undersized shooting guard who lacks athleticism *and only managed to get off 8 FGA per game.* What Reed did at Kentucky, with very limited volume, was more than likely an anomaly which he will never repeat again. Hopefully Stone will trade that pick and get what he can and draft Knecht, Carter, or Bub.

Jalen for most of the season was more up and down than the Texas Cyclone I used to ride at Six Flags. Eventually Stone will be forced to pick who to give the max to Sengun or Green and I would bet it’s Baby Joker getting the bag

Green lacks the consistence as you noted to get a max. Worth $25 mil based on past performance. $30 mil based on potential.

Reed Sheppard averaged 12.5 points!! That's not a generational player. 100's of guards average 12.5 points or more a game. Great shooter is crazy! Why didn't his team do anything in the tourney with 2 top 10 players???
@MalfeasanceQ7 ай бұрын
Alpi is the key piece with Cam being the runner-up. Neither Jalen nor Amen can shoot from outside. Jabari is a question mark average roleplayer at best. Tari is a question mark with his health issues. Without ALPI, this team will be in tank-mode for the foreseeable future.

The Portland Trailblazers are going to draft Sam Bowie with the second pick because they need a big. Take Michael Jordan with the third pick. He has a strong upside and Coach Knight can't say enough about him...Kidding aside, we have no idea how all draft picks are going to develop throughout their careers but it's fun to speculate about. Cheers, gentlemen. Let's go Rockets!...💯

Keep the pick and take reed Sheppard. If stone trades back he should be fired
@greglyon14027 ай бұрын
All four of them were wrong with their assessment to move back in the draft. They actually should move forward. Allow me to explain. Trading back is good if you get a good trade. #3 for #9 and Marcus Smart is not good. Two reasons. First, the Rockets young guys are not ready to contend. Last season they learned how to win. This season they need to learn how to win on the road. Next season, they need to learn how to win in the playoffs. The season after that they need to learn how to contend. So Smart could very well be gone by then. Second, the Rockets already have FVV who played very well and has a championship ring. Is Smart going to come off the bench? Who is he going to take minutes away from? Amen, Green, Cam? The talk about ten years out is valid. There are not any sure things, even Wemby. But let's look at that. The Rockets core 6 right now is Sengun, Green, Smith, Eason, Amen and Cam. In then years all six should still be in the league. We know that FVV, Adams, and Brooks will not be. Then there is the salary matchers - Green, Tate and Landale. So looking at that core six, the Rockets need another point guard, wing, and big. I use wing and big as that is more of what the NBA is today. With the #3 they could take Sheppard in the draft and hope that he develops into a point guard. At his size, even with his leaping ability, he will be a liability out on the wing. They could take Risacher, an excellent wing project. They could take Clingan an excellent prospect at center. Note that I called Clingan a center from the traditional mode. He and Sengun are not really power forwards. Smith is capable of playing both center and power forward, a true big. That is where Sarr comes in. He is also a big who could rotate in for both Smith and Sengun. There is your three man big rotation. You have Eason, Cam, and Green as your three man rotation. Amen and ??? at point guard. So the Rockets need draft a big and a point guard at some point this year or next. That clarifies what the Rockets should do. 1) trade up with the Hawks for Sarr, 2) draft Sheppard and hope he can fill the combo guard position (pg and sg) backing up FVV or their future point guard (Amen?) or draft Castle for his defense, 3) trade back for a big and point guard. All depends on what is the cost. If it doesn't cost much to trade up with the Hawks, then that is the smart move. If a good offer comes along to trade back, then do it. Personally, I like trading back with the Blazers for #7 and #14. Draft Carter at #7 and a big at #14 - Missi, Ware, Edey. Consider that last year #3 was Scoot, #7 was Coulibaly, and #14 was Hawkins, giving up #3 for #7 & #14 is a good deal for the Blazers to land the future center. Lastly, the best draft class? Frankly, I like all three and view them about the same.
