I feel like this isnt fair comparison due to two factors. The distance and the athletes. American football is at much higher lv compared to soccer in USA. US soccer player, while maybe scoring alot, doesnt mean that you have powerful kick but rather good kick control. Compared to European players, that soccer kick was weak.

Because America is the biggest undeveloped soccer market in the world. MLS and the US national team is about to get really good, really soon. You will see. Our soccer talent pool is like less than 5% of what it could be right now and we still manage to qualify for the World Cup and have a Top 15 team in the world. If we can stretch that to even a 20% talent pool, we will be a world power.

Rugby (only protection for the teeth i guess) and American football (helmet, gloves, shoulder protection, knee protection, and all that stuff).
